Like a Time Machine
56Chapter 1: Meeting Her
I remember the first day we met. I can replay in slow motion as if it was recorded in my head. It was at a Junior reunion in the auditorium of Highlands High School. I was walking with my new friend Angela to meet up with one of her best friends. Ahead, I see that girl. I never got to know her name. All I knew about her was that she recently broke up with her boyfriend, which also was my ex boyfriend since the 8th grade.
My first time seeing this girl was last year when my friend Cindy had pointed her out to mention that her breast were perfect. Before that, I had no idea that she went to my school. That same year, she ended up getting with a guy name Alfred. He was a little thug who only wanted a piece of ass.
I saw them together during lunch once. I was only paying attention to how she looked. You would think that this girl was a shy, delicate, and picky person, but when I saw her with him, it's like she was the complete opposite. She still looked shy, but who would of thought that this girl would even think of getting with a guy like him. In the little group, all he would talk about was wanting to get her in his bed.
I didn't truly care at the moment because I was too busy thinking about other girls, whom I did know, but I would have never wished this beautiful girl any bad. They all talked about how cute they looked together, but I was only thinking about how beautiful she looked. That is, before I dozed off into my own little world with tears.
My life was nothing to be proud of. I searched for love and no matter how many times I got my heart broken, I didn't give up. I would smoke drink, and consume drugs to get my mind off of the fact that my parents didn't love me, and that I was convinced that I was cursed.
Cursed by thinking that I found the one but right when I fall in love, they brake my heart into pieces. It almost felt like a trap. I went for beauty, loved beauty, then left by beauty. I got my hopes up too many times for nothing. I only wanted to be happy but how could I have gotten that when I had nothing to look forward to. I thought about ending my life so many times. I just never had the strength.
I wasn't one to give up on love though. It was the only thing that kept me going. If it wasn't for the faith that I had to find love, I wouldn't have even made it to my Junior year. I would've been in hell where the devil tried to push me ever since I was born.
As my friend Angela walked forward, I noticed that she walked towards that same girl. I felt my heart beat faster. That's when I finally got her name. Angela shouted it out. "Briann!" At that very moment, Briann only looked at Angela with a small yet beautiful smile. But as we got closer, she looked at me for one second. That second seemed like a whole minute to me. It was long enough to make me fall in love.
We all walked in the auditorium together and sat in the same row. I didn't get to sit right next to her but I sat next to Angela, who did get to sit next to her. Angela and I were being silly making up jokes to get a good laugh. Briann laughed with us."Hey, weren't you with Nick?" I couldn't walk out of the auditorium without getting to talk to her. "um, yeah." I then asked her what had happened between them and she said that he was too immature and annoying. I agreed and laughed. I thought that she would settle for a guy like him but I was right when I assumed she was picky.
After that, I knew we would keep talking. Or actually, I knew I wouldn't be scared to talk to her again. She was so adorable and funny. Why would I not? I was in desperate need of love. Although, this one and only girl made me realize that all I had to do was be patient, and love would come to me on its own time.
I know this because I had recently gotten my heart broken again by a girl named Tracie Nichole Stacy. And when I least expected it, Briann came to me. Not only did she come, but she stayed by my side as long as God allowed her to. We got married, we have 2 kids, and now old enough to know what life was about.
