Lil Wayne Lyrics

Lil Wayne is probably one of the hottest hip-hop artists out right now. He even calls himself "the greatest" despite a widespread sentiment that Jay Z holds that title.

His recent offering, Tha Carter 3, has sold an astonishing 2 millions copies since its release on the 10th of June. During the first day of release it sold an amazing 400,000 copies or so. Even offerings from well-known and popular artists such as Alanis Morissette, N.E.R.D, and hip-hop artist Plies were no match for Lil Wayne. No other artist has even come close since 50 Cent's Tha Massacre, which was released in 2005. That album also did similar numbers in its first week. The only other atist to sell close to a million is Kanye West, whose album sold 957,000 copies in late 2007.

In 2007 alone, it is rumored that Lil Wayne released (or was featured in) 77 songs ! Talk about being prolific. Dwayne Carter (Lil Wayne's real name) has even bragged about the fact that he doesn't write down his lyrics. In his latest single, "A Milli", he is even heard saying that he doesn't write his rhymes because he doesn't have time. Another artist who does so is Jay Z. Now that is talent ! How can one churn out so many hits straight from the head without having to recite lyrics in any way ?

With so many songs out it would be no surprise to find hoards of fans in search of Lil Wayne lyrics. I, for one, am one who may need some "guidance" of some sort because some of what this young man says is hard to follow at times. It sounds like he is mumbling in some of his songs. It is quite a task to follow what some rappers talk about in their rhymes because they use slang that most of us are unfamiliar with.

I must be honest and admit that I don't follow the hip hoppers. However, I think they are pretty clever the way the say those words so fast, and remember them all!

This is a tale for all the fellas... Just kidding. I find it very difficult to completely understand what hip hop "singers" are saying, so having an online resource for lyrics is great.

I think that Rap & Hip Hop are the only truly new form of music invented in relatively recent years. It's appeal and complexity is often underrated.
