Hard Work

Lil Wayne works very hard. He loves music. He recently got a tattoo that says "I am Music" above his right eye. Lil Wayne says that music is his life, and that he goes to the club and to the malls only because that it is his job, otherwise he stays in the studio making music. Wayne makes songs every day, and the best of those songs, he puts on his albums. He said that he makes an average of 3 songs a day! WOW! THATS CRAZY! Lil Wayne says he wakes up every morning and goes to the studio and stays there til early the next morning. Lil Wayne says, "I record better than I can do anything else, so why would'nt I do it all the time?" Practice makes perfect right? Haha

Early Life

Lil Wayne was born on September 27, 1982 and grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Lil Wayne's real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr.  Waynes biological father died when Wayne was only 16 years old.  Lil Wayne wrote his first rap when he was only eight years old and was signed with Cash Money Records at the age of twelve.  Brian Williams, more commonly known as Birdman or Baby was Waynes Father figure most of his life.  Lil Wayne said that it was Birdman that taught him everything he knows about the rap game.  Lil Wayne's mom took him out of school at age 14 to persue his rap career but during the time he was going to school Wayne was a straight "A" student.  While Wayne was on tour with Cash Money his mom got bored while she was at the house all alone, so she asked Wayne to have a baby and so she could have something to do and she told him that she would take care of the baby.  Lil Wayne was hesitant, but agreed.  When Wayne was only 15 years old, he and 14 year old Toya had a daughter.  They named her Reginae Carter.

Tha Carter

Tha Carter was released in 2004 which includes the hit single Go Dj. Some say this was Lil Waynes breakout album.

Tha Carter 2

Tha Carter 2 was released in 2005 which went double platnum. Singles include Fireman, Hustler Musik, and Shooter feat. Robbin Thicke. Tha Carter 2 went double platnum. This album includes the song called "Best Rapper Alive" which is what many people today believe he is.

Tha Carter 3

Tha Carter 3 is Lil Wayne's latest album which was released in 2008.  This album sold 1 million coppies in the first week of hitting the stores.  Lil Wayne was nominated for 8 grammy awards after this album and won 4 of those awards.  Singles include Lollipop, A Mili, and Mrs. Officer.

Tha Carter 3 Rebirth

Lil Wayne's next album is going to be a rock album. This is a very unique thing to have a rapper do a rock album, but if you are like me you will like anything that Wayne does. Since he has conquered hip-hop, why not conquer rock?  His first single is prom queen and hot revolver is said to be the second single.

Now

Lil Wayne, also known as Weezy F. Baby or Birdman Jr., currently lives in Miami, FL where he moved to after Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans. He has done many collaborations with other artists and with his own artists which some include Drake, Tyga, and Mack Maine. Tyga has had the hit single Coconut Juice and Drake has just released his first music video entitled Best I Ever Had. Mack Maine can be seen in the video of Got Money which features T-pain and Mack Maine. Lil Wayne is supposedly going to be in a movie entitled "Hurricane Season" which Wayne acts along side Bow Wow and Forrest Whitaker. He is said to play a school boy who is a hustler and does not really care about the school. Lil Wayne says that he loves to bowl and has been bowling since he was sixteen years old. Lil Wayne has just had a son and named him Dwayne Michael Carter 3rd. He has yet to tell the mother of the child's name. Even though Lil Wayne's lyrics and attitude in his songs may lead you to think Wayne is stuck up and,or got an attitude problem, you're wrong, most everybody says that he is an outgoing, nice guy that has a very good sense of humor. Lil Wayne does not write his music any more. He does what they call, off the top of the dome. It's sort of like an organized freestyle. That is where you get all the energy in his songs from. Wayne has been in the rap game for 14 years and is now only 26 years of age. He is most definitely the most successful rap artist of our time and looks to have a bright future ahead of him as well.
