Let's face it, 90% of SEO is building links. Anchored backlinks are by far the most valuable such links, but the problem is they are hard to get unless you have a huge farm of your own. Since most of us don't have such a farm we're left in a predicament. The good news is that there are lots of services that let you basically use their "farms" for a varying level of money depending mostly on the quality of the sites they give you access to.

Traffic Kahuna

TrafficKahuna
Cost: $150/mth or $995/year (from what I remember)
Ease of Use: ****
Power of Links: ***

TrafficKahuna is probably my favorite link building service that I've used so far. The spinner is nice, you can get up to 30 articles posted from one spun article. They allow you three links per post, to up to 30 URLs with 30 keywords. What I don't like is these are in sets of 10. So for example you can choose keyowords "red widget, green widget, and blue widget" pointing at "bluewidgets.com, greenwidgets.com, and redwidgets.com" but you don't get to say "redwidgets.com -> red widgets". This generally results in me only using 3 URL's. 30 articles x 3 links = 90 links for about 1 hours work.

As for the quality of the links, are they everything that's promised? No, rarely is anything as good as promised, especially in IM. You do get links posted on some PR2 & PR3 blogs, maybe 20-25% at best, most are on PR1 & PR0 blogs. Realistically this results in you getting mostly PR1 or PR0 links from deep pages on these blogs (which shows the importance of linking to your links lol).

I guess if I had to describe the type of person who TrafficKahuna is right for I would suggest it to the person who wants to get a large number of medium quality links without too much concern for duplicate content.

When I use TK I seem to get almost instant (well 24 hr probably) indexing)

Link Vana

LinkVana
Cost: $147/mth
Ease of Use: **
Power of Links: ***

LinkVana is a good but somewhat painful thing to use. I both hate and love the fact that they don't have an article spinner. It makes it a real pain to get a large number of links as you're basically getting them 1 at a time, but it shows how seriously they take the quality of their network. You get 1 link per 100 word post. If you are a big advocate of avoiding duplicate content then this is probably a real plus for you. Realistically you can probably get yourself 10 links an hour working away at this.

The quality of the links are fairly on par with other things. Some blogs are PR2 & PR3 but most are PR1 & PR0. I admittedly haven't done that much testing with LinkVana so this assessment is based on a smaller sample.

The person that LinkVana is for is people who are concerned with duplicate content and aren't afraid to work in an effort to get their links.

Article Marketing Automation

ArticleMarketingAutomation
Cost: $47/mth
Ease of Use: *****
Power of Links: **

Article marketing automation is so easy to use. I really do like that about it, almost enough to look past the quality of the links. The spinner is the best I've used (I actually write all my spun articles here and use find and replace to change them for TrafficKahuna). You get your articles posted a good number of times. My best been posted 124 times. You get 2 links per 300 word post. So that's 248 links for an hours work.

The drawback is the links suck, most are on PR N/A blogs, some are on PR0, and very rarely you might find a PR1... I've never seen anything higher than that on the network. This results in you putting up a fair number of links that may never even be indexed.

Article marketing automation is a good solution for someone who doesn't have much spare money. It also works well for getting links to your links.

BMD... what a rollercoaster it's been. Vic from Blogger Unleashed was a BIG fan of this one for a while (I don't know how strongly he feels about it now). It's not hard to see why he likes it so much as with a minimal amount of effort you can get a TON of links. I truthfully haven't used it in forever but I plan on getting back at it soon. You can get hundreds of links in minutes.

The drawback, as usual, with quantity you lose quality. All the links appear on thin pages, with little to no authority. It takes 100's of these links to equal even 1 PR1 link.

So what are such crappy links good for then? Well BMD should be used to point to pages that link to your site. How I use it is to look in my webmaster tools at pages that link to my pages, plug them in, and "bookmark" those pages. It should have some effect on the pages that link to you, ultimately helping you out in the long run.

ArticleMarketer was a favorite of Court for a long time. As with BMD and Vic I'm not sure how he feels about it now. AM will get you 1000's of links with one article. They submit your articles to article directories of which there are many. Getting set up to get the links is a bit of work, the site has a fair number of burdensome (and stupid IMO) requirements for posts.

Again these links suck. All the content is purely duplicate, and even if you don't buy into the hype, google does draw the line somewhere.

As far as I know google sees article directories as a fairly legitimate source of gaining links. I wouldn't be afraid to link fairly high up your tower of link power, although I still wouldn't point at your money site with them.

I just tried this for the first time today. I like the system more than LV since you can spin articles, but who knows yet. It's defiantly not SIMPLE... but it is less complicated. I'll let you know about quality when I have a chance to investigate.

I find these tools to be a great time saver for sure... most of them are well worth the cost

I have been keeping my eye out for the best website link building services but there seems to just be too much crap out there. I'm sure if I put much more effort into it I might find something but at this point I'm thinking I might just call up my local marketing firm and pay for some professional seo link building services.
