Linking to other web sites

So you want some traffic to your website!

The best way to do this is to increase your popularity amongst the community of similar subject web sites, or in other words become an authority site. This is how the search engines rate a web site.

What you need to do is request other web sites put a text link to your site. Having said that there is a little more to it than that. Like what the page rank is from the linking site, the text that you use, how many links are on the origin page and the subject of the site where the link comes from.

Like my site is about Discount shopping so I would be looking for Shopping sites to link exchange with.
