Losing Weight is almost everybody's New Year's Resolution, we always look for the fastest way to lose those ugly bulges we acquired during the holiday binges. Some people would try Liquid Diet, experts admits that the liquid diet is a surefire way of losing a few pounds in just a matter of days. Someone on a liquid diet can lose up to 6lbs in 2-3days only. But do u know that most of the lost weight is just water and as soon as you drink you will gain back the lost weight. And once you got bored of the liquid diet, and start eating again (since I'm 100% sure you miss all those delicious food) you will start to gain back the lost weight and will gain even more. The reason for gaining more weight this time is because during the time you are on a liquid diet your metabolism got used on just burning few calories, so when you go back to your normal calories intake your body (metabolism) will be slow already in burning those calories and that leaves you gaining more weight.

According to the health organization, a person can only lose 10% of his/her current weight in 6months, so your weight now is 200lbs, you are only allowed to lose 20lbs in 6months. The answer to a healthy and sustainable weight loss is to eat in moderation, eat healthy foods which contain lots of veggies, drink plenty of pure water, and of course lots of exercise.

Liquid Diet consist of: Fresh Fruit Extract, Fruit shake, Coffee, Milk, Protein shake, Soup (pureed veggies and strained meat) and herbal tea.


Other Negative Effects of Liquid Diet:

  • Liquid diet is hard to sustained on a long term basis
  • Liquid diet can slowdown your metabolism
  • Staying on a liquid diet regimen for a long period of time is dangerous.
  • Expert says that since you have deprived yourself of your usual daily food intake, getting off the diet will make you an easy victim of binge-eating.
  • Liquid diet will leave you will less energy and you will suffer from constants cravings.
  • You can lose your muscles when you go on a liquid diet. When you are on a liquid diet your body conserves energy since it knows that you are not getting much carbohydrate in your diet so it will start using other sources of energy aside from carbohydrates, your body will start burning your muscles for energy. So the muscles that took you so long to develop will just go to waste once you opted to go on a liquid diet.
  • Low calorie liquid diets usually offer too little fiber and lack of important nutrients and antioxidant. This can lower your resistance to diseases.

Positive Effect of Liquid Diet:

  • Liquid diet is recommended for those people who will undergo operation procedure and who has just undergone an operation procedures since the body is still very weak to digest solid food.
  • Liquid diet is also recommended in dealing with extreme obesity. But this should be done under the supervision of a nutritionist and a doctor.
  • Liquid diet of fresh fruit juice diet is good if your need is to detoxify your body from toxins. It is advised to do this for 1-2 days only at least once a month. But again consult your doctor if you are under any medical condition before doing the fast.

Fact: A diet that contains less than 1000 kilocalories a day causes a person's metabolism to slow down. This makes weight loss more difficult and as a result, gaining weight becomes inevitable once she resumes her regular eating habits.
