Liquid Vitamins Are Better Than Pills
People who take a handful of vitamins daily think they’re doing the right thing for their body. Sadly, they’re getting very little for the effort. Whether purchased from the grocery shelf or at a health food store, vitamins in capsules or pill form are far less effective than liquid vitamins.
Why? It’s all about absorbability. You can be proud to taking 1,000 mg of calcium daily. But if your body only gets the benefit of 200 mg of that calcium, then you’re operating at a daily calcium deficit.
The actual amount of useable calcium that gets into your body’s systems is the real amount that you’re taking. Forget what’s written on the label - it’s all about absorbability.
Liquid vitamins start out in a form that's easier for the body to absorb than solids.
As vitamins reach the intestinal tract, that's where the difference in absorbability is noticed. It's in the intestinal tract where vitamins and nutrients are absorbed in the bloodstream for use by the body.
Vitamins delivered there in solid form, capsules or tablets, must be broken up in smaller segments by the hydrochloric acid from the stomach before it travels to the intestines. That just makes the solids smaller but it can still be in pieces too large to pass through the intestinal wall.
Those particles are simply excreted as waste. It's vitamin dollars that you intended to spend for your health, which actually get flushed down the toilet. Liquid vitamins don't have to go through a chemical extraction process because they're already in a form that easily passes through the intestinal wall.
That's the reason why the estimates of liquid vitamin absorption are so much higher than that of vitamins in capsules or tablet forms. Statistics vary on this subject.
Some experts say that liquid vitamins can offer a 70-90% higher absorption rate compared to 10-25% for solid vitamins. Even on the low end of that estimate, you get much more for your money with liquid vitamins.
Another popular benefit of liquid vitamins is the ease of taking them. Some people resist taking vitamins because they don’t want to swallow a pile of pills several times a day. Liquid vitamins easily mix into the morning glass of juice or can be swallowed easily.
Many liquid supplements come with a naturally pleasing taste that’s easy to take in a shot glass right out of the bottle. Another benefit of the ease in consuming as well as the high absorption rate is how important this is for older adults who may have poor eating habits or lose interest in eating.
Adults of any age who are recovering from a serious illness and need an extra nutritional boost find that liquid vitamins are the method of choice. Since the liquid vitamins rapidly enter the bloodstream from the intestinal tract, the “bioavailability” or potential for use is faster and more predictable than with non-liquid nutrients.
Vitamins in pill form may seem cheaper than liquid vitamins, but don’t be fooled. It’s like putting watered-down gas in a high performance car - it won’t run to capacity.
That’s what happens to your body when it’s given a pile of low absorption pills. Go for the high performance option that’s best found with liquid vitamins.

Great article! Interesting to note also that calcium needs an acidic environment to be absorbed in the GI tract. If you recall the TUMS/ROLAIDS guys stopped bragging about getting more calcium by chomping on them. Calcium carbonate neutralizes stomach acid...so you don't get any of it! Busted, so they stopped bragging about it!
Yes, liquid nutrition is an incredible way to supplement. Have done it for years.ThanksJeff
