List Building Develop Relationships
53How to build your list
There are many aspects of building a list that you need to consider. First of all you need to build up an audience of people that are interested in the content of your hub. How do you do that? You need to visit other hubs, find out what people are talking about find out what interests them. Once you have compiled this information you can then start to develop the content of your hub. This may take some time, and you may feel the you are straying from your task at first, but I believe that this is the best way to develop relationships within the Hub community.
Basically what you're doing is helping others with what they want first and foremost. You are building up a trust and friendship within the community, people will know that they can rely on you to help them. They will feel that what you say is more than likely to be true, this is because people turn to their friends for advice first, because they trust those people to give them their honest opinion. At this point let me ask you a question. Isn't it better to have a small list of people to value what you have to say and will read your e-mails and will read your hub pages, people that are eager to find out what you have to say. Or would you like a long list of people that don't avert your mail directly to their spam folder? Think about it.
My reasons are choosing this topic was because I searched what people wanted to find out about within hub pages, this whole hub is about what somebody else wants to know. Developing relationships with everybody as you can is the easiest and fastest way to build your list, that is if you want a list of people that are interested in what you have to say.
As you create your hub pages, and you have decided on your niche topics to talk about. You need to make sure that you have information on your site for people to be able to get hold of you either via an all to respond a list personal e-mail messenger ID whichever you feel most comfortable with I would recommend two or three the above this will give people the option to decide for themselves which way they would like to communicate with you.
You need to be transparent people need to know what you are about, make sure your profile is up-to-date, and there is a photograph of yourself and links back to your own personal website. You could also add RSS feeds to your personal blogs or business blogs so that people can find out more information about what you are about.
Once you have built up a relationship in the first instance either by communication through messaging within the hub pages or if you exchange skype IDs messenger etc, you will have the history within that programme as a resource point.
One thing I must mention this point. It all that I use a great deal whilst building my list online is a little gadget from Google. It is called desktop with a small download installed on your computer you are able to access any files or information, graphics, word documents etc by using a search it will give you access to anything within your computer's hard drive. For instance if somebody e-mailed you and you don't recognize their name, pop it into the Google desktop search and it will come up with all the information that you require. And you can quickly scan through that information to find out what the last conversation was you had with them on Skype or messenger or the last e-mail it's amazing what information it will pull up. Obviously there will be other things that are not relevant to that particular person but you will have a better idea of what type of relationship has already been built up between this person and yourself.
I have built up many friends within my contact list by using this information. People are always interested in what you have to say if you have taken the time and effort to remember what your last conversation was with them. People are very surprised when I come back with a little gem or quote that they have mentioned in their last conversation with me. People like to be remembered, and as my memory is not the best in the world I even get the children's names wrong sometimes, this always works for me. :) as the friendship develops that these people you will not have to reference your desktop quite so often you actually remember what your last conversation was with them but it's a good starting point. Why not give it a go?
