11:59 AM Wes Welker is playing today! now I'll spend the next hour adjusting my fantasy rosters. Im thinking I'll give him a week before I throw him in as a starter though. Of course that means he will have 12 catches of 120 yards and 2 TDs.

While we are on Fantasy Football, here are the guys I like this week

RB Leon Washington Jets

Hes the best receiver out of the backfield that Jets have, and as good as the Jets defense has played, New York will be playing form behind at some point, and I think Washington will benefit.

Bengals Defense

Anyone playing the Browns is a good play, but Cinci's linebackers are for real and the defense is a top 10 unit. Derek Anderson will have a long day.

Vernon Davis TE 49ers

Im probably going to regret this one. Davis has killed me every year in fantasy with his lack of production, but maybe, just maybe hes finally getting it. I love the matchup with St. Louis, and Gore's injury may lean the Niners a little more toward the passing game, despite Head Coach Mike Singletary's proclamation that he will not change his gameplan while Gore is out.

Matt Schaub QB Texans

I like the matchup with Oakland, Kevin Walter is healthy and producing, and he has another guy to throw the ball to....whats his name, oh yeah, Andre Johnson. As good as Oakland CB Nnamdi Asomugha is, he cant cover both of those guys.

12:40 C just got back from the store with our food for the game. Turkey burgers, Hummus, and ingredients for a homemade pizza for animation domination tonight. I definitely need to hit the gym tomorrow.

12:43 ESPN text tells me the Cowboys think RB Marion Barber can play this week. I was lucky enough to get his backup Tashard Choice off of waivers, and now I'm nervous to either one. here's hoping Glenn Coffee comes through for me.

12:50 I have heard all morning that Joe Flacco is the second coming of Tom Brady. Chris Berman pointed to the fact earlier that through 19 career starts Brady and Flacco have identical records. How that quantifies the comparison is beyond me, as of all sports, Football is the biggest TEAM sport, most of Baltimore's success last year hinged on their defense. Im not trying to take away for joe Flacco, but let him carry a season before we start anointing him as the next great QB

The cart is being called for, but luckily Gaither is moving and seems alert. the backboard is on the field, and having experienced a neck injury first hand in High school I can safely say there is no scarier moment than being strapped to the board and carried off the field. My heart goes out to Gaither and his family, and hope he has a speedy recovery.

2:23 Draw play to Morris for a twelve yard TD run. I think the Gaither injury may have taken all the wind out of Baltimore's sails. 14 unanswered points for the Pats, who may finally be gettign the offense running on all cylinders.

2:28 The new rules protectign QBs are out of control. How does the league expect a 300+ lb defensive lineman to stop on a dime when the whistle blows? I know its the Brady rule, but it sucks, and needs to be tweaked or left up to the referees discretion.
