Live Your Passion
58Live Your Passion
Everyone has a passion about something. Passion is defined as feeling very strongly about a subject or person, a very powerful emotion. Your passions are developed over your lifetime and sometimes they change or mature with age. Most of us have passions about people, ideas, leisure activities, our talents. We all do something very well and often share our passions with others. How do you identify your passions? I would suggest to all of you to read this little book called “How to find what you love and get paid for doing it”. It helps find your true passion
Start by writing down what you are most excited about. Is it riding your bike, fly-fishing in a mountain stream, camping in the Wild West, or reading? The answer is uniquely yours. I did this quite some time ago and found 2 things that I loved to do more than anything else. Reading history and camping. This led me on a journey to become a college history professor. I would camp in the summers while on field research in South Dakota and Wyoming. Year after year my job allowed me to camp and study in some of the most beautiful locations in the west. People began to ask me about camping. They wanted to know about places to go, stuff to buy and just about every thing. That’s when I stared to think about what my life would be like if I spent my day doing what I loved. Could I make a living camping and studying history without the mid terms, final exams, and grading essays?
I began to look around at several of my friends who are professional fishermen with their own television shows. That wouldn’t work, not too many people would watch a guy study history while camping. I let five or six years slip away
Some of my tech type college cronies suggested I build my own web site and just talk about camping. Right, like web site design is part of a history PhD. I did what knew best, I researched.(for about 2 years). Finally I found a program that I could use and I stated my little web adventure about 5 months ago. My site started making small amounts of pocket change and is growing daily. The one thing I will share with you about traffic is all about content. I serve a very small niche and a lot of my traffic comes from my Route 66 page.
Inside of each of us is that person who is excited about possibilities and dreams. That person is hiding just behind your current reality. Find him or her and let them be your reality. Imagine everyday you are exited about what the possibilities of this day are. You love every waking moment and feel free and confident. You are alive and expressing yourself. That is what passion is. Live it and live well.
Stop worrying about the economy, worry won’t change it nor will politicians. Let it go.

The most important thing is to do what you love... otherwise, there's no point!

Such encouraging words. Thank you. I think we are conditioned to believe that our passions have to be our hobbies that we just have to accept that. We're starting to see people break that mold.
