Living food allergen free

In August of this year my daughter was born, and was extrememly 'colicy' from day 1. I had to figure out something to help, and so this is what happened.....This is what I have been doing since mid October because of testing 'sensitive' to all of these foods and trying to work with a baby with Colic. -wheat, gluten, milk, egg, soy, peanut and corn free. I have just now started adding back in a little bit of corn because I was concerned that my body would create a sensitivity to rice since that is mostly what I eat.

In the am I have coffee (duh) with vanilla rice milk and crispy rice cereal or puffin rice cereal both are found in the natural stores or food sections. I buy mine at Fred Meyer usually but Safeway carries some too. I eat lots of raw fruit (no canned because of the syrups) I eat lots of salad, usually with crunchies like cranberries and sunflower seeds on it and I make my own dressings with balsamic vinegar or sunflower oil (most salad dressing has soy in it) for lunch I always eat leftovers from the night before and for dinner I make stir fry with quinoa and veggies (quinoa is awesome because it's carb and protein) or I make meat and potatoes or rice or stir fry with thai rice noodles. Yesterday I threw a pot roast in the crock pot with herbs d province and potatoes and onions and apple cider and left it and it was way easy for dinner.

I eat chocolate or rice ice cream for desserts/snacks, however we have been experimenting a lot with desserts, we made amarynth flower pie crust and I made a real apple pie which was good, and we made real tapioca pudding with dari free (a powder made from potatoes) that was actually good. The hardest thing about eating this way is that without the wheat and milk in my diet which used to consist of peanut butter and jelly sandwhich or peanut butter and vanilla ice cream and wheat bread, I am hungry all of the time. Rice burns up very fast in your system.

Other than that I just drink waters, no sodas because of the corn syrup, and sometimes I can find juice which is just fruit and water. I buy rice bread or tapioca bread and sometimes we buy cake or bread mixes which are yummy. I use applesauce for egg replacer in baked goods like cake, and otherwise I use egg replacer in recipes.

The cereal I like the best is Arrowhead Mills rice cereal or buckwheat with maple

The thing to remember is going off wheat there are horrible withdrawl symptoms, I'm sure you remember. Headaches and crying and pissed off at the same time. But then after a few weeks its doable. Let me know if you have any questions. If you find stuff you like, you can buy from Amazon and get a discount if you buy a few at a time.

You can find great deals on some natural food products at Amazon.com, often they have deals where if you buy 6 of something you get 2 free, etc.

My VERY favorite snack is Enjoy LIfe's Snickerdoodle cookies! You can even use them to bake a nice pie crust. ;)
