Living Green in Style
65Eco-friendly living is becoming more and more popular, which is great for the environment. Some of you might be wary of living a greener lifestyle because you don’t want to give up the fashion and styles of living that you enjoy. But reducing your impact on the planet can be simple, and you can keep your living style. Remember that every action, no matter how small, does make a difference. Plus, most green actions end up saving you money, as well as reducing waste. Benefit your planet by living green.
Below are some trendy fashions you can greenify. If you have any great ideas to share with us about living a green lifestyle, please leave a comment in the box at the bottom of the page.
Ecoluxury Clothing
Camilla Norrback is a Finnish designer who believes in ecoluxury when it comes to fashion. She believes we can live in modern luxury while being ecologically and environmentally friendly.
According to Norrback’s website, camillanorrback.com, the majority of their garments are produced with “ecological or environment-certified natural material.” This means that environmentally friendly, chemical-free procedures are taken at every step of the production process. Look good, feel good, and live green.
The GreenPod
Trevor Baylis is an inspirational inventor—in fact, I recently heard an interview with him on a local radio station, and was very impressed with his green ideas. He has invented the GreenPod, a wind-up video and music player. That’s right, you power it by winding it up.
This is a fabulously green gadget when compared to the iPod, which is not sustainable because the battery is not replaceable. After a few years with your expensive iPod, you have to throw it out and buy a new one when your battery dies. With the GreenPod, you simply have to wind it up to use it. It is sustainable, it’s green, and it’s stylish.
Green Shoes
Your shoes don’t have to be green in color to be environmentally friendly. There are plenty of stylish shoes available that are eco-friendly and fair trade.
Green shoes have been produced with environmentally friendly materials. Another cool thing about purchasing these shoes is that they are sustainable—they are often made to be resoleable or repairable, so you can wear them for many years.
Eco-Fashion can be your new style!
Buying ecologically friendly, green products isn’t simply a new trend—it is also part of living in a sustainable, healthy way. Eco-fashion products are made with non-polluting fabrics, like organic cotton; they are produced without toxic chemicals that are unhealthy both for you and for the environment; and, they are ethically produced and fair trade.

Yes...but it is a green gadget, so it is cool!
Are you suggesting my other gadgets aren't? I think I'm offended.
No, of course not! I'm just pointing how COOL this one is. If your other gadgets are all green, then I bow down to you. That is awesome.
This is all very good. I have a windup flashlight, but it no longer holds a charge no matter how long or short a time I wind it. The LED bulbs say on only for 10 seconds.
I think that what Stacie is hinting at is that so far we are able to adapt to global warming and its consequences by going "green" but what happens when that is not enough

I have got to get me a Green Pod, and just when I had kicked the gadget addiction.
