Lifestyle Changes Could Prevent Rosacea Flare-Ups
I have been suffering from skin diseases for 30 years. I had heavy acne as a teenager and as a young adult. Then I was diagnosed with Rosacea and coexisting Seborrheic Dermatitis. I was "lucky" enough to develop three of the four main types of Rosacea - ocular, inflammatory and vascular. Rosacea changed my life. Constant embarrassment, social withdrawal, visiting many doctors, using different oral and topical treatments. After years of trial and error efforts I have realized that there is no magic treatment or cure for my Rosacea and Seborrheic Dermatitis but a few lifestyle changes could prevent the Rosacea flare-ups of frequent occurring and could reduce their intensity. If you are a Rosacea sufferer like me you should:
1. Change Your Mind!
This is the most difficult step. The way you thing about how your face looks like is more important than the disease itself. Your Rosacea is the major obstacle in your life and the best opportunity your inner strength to be examined. Change your mind and you will be able to change your lifestyle!
2. Get More Educated About Rosacea!
The brochures given to you in the doctor's office are not enough. Go to the Internet. Learn more about the different types of Rosacea and their symptoms. Stay informed about the latest research regarding Rosacea causes and triggers. Learn about the body acid control and the importance of keeping your body alkaline. Be familiar with most conventional and alternative treatments available.
3. Change Your Diet!
Try to eat mostly organic. Money spent on organic food is the best financial investment you can make in your own health. Make a chart of acidic and alkaline food products. Learn how to reduce acid forming foods while increasing your intake of alkaline forming foods. Drink 12-16 glasses of water every day. Quit smoking and avoid or minimize alcohol consumption for better body acid balance.
4. Cleanse and Detoxify your Inner Body!
Taking good care of your skin is not enough for keeping your Rosacea under control. Learn about the benefits of cleansing your body of wastes and toxins. Do colon and liver cleanses every 3-4 months. Do fungal cleanse at least once a year. Always use all natural herbal products.
5. Build a Strong Immune System!
The body's immune system is the first line of defense against infections and diseases. By building a strong immune system you will be less prone to infection which means less inflammatory breakouts on your face. Take whole food vitamins and supplements every day.
Remember: Everything is in your mind. Make the decision to change the way you live with Rosacea. You don't need special programs to teach you how to do that. The only thing you need is to believe in your own strength.
