Living with fear
59Fear can be a scary thing. I don't care what anyone says, everyone has something that they are scared of or that they fear. Sometimes fear can hold a person back from something or make a person live their life in a certain way. Fear can look anyway that it wants. It can sneak up on you at anytime. I have many fears. I have a fear of heights. I just cannot stand the thought of falling and not having any control. Not having control is another fear. That relates to my fear of dying. That is my worst fear. And like it or not, I can not do anything about it. I know it will happen but I push it down inside and try my hardest not to think or even talk about it. I try and avoid the topic all together really. But I thought I would share that fear with you since I'm on the topic. Another fear I have is the dark. If I can see alittle bit I am fine, but if I can't, well then I'm afraid. I find it interesting what people fear and when they have the same fears as mine I can relate and when they don't I still relate to them because fear is fear no matter what it may be for you. As most of my fans know I am bulimic. I have a fear of being fat. I cannot stand it and try to do whatever I can to prevent it from happening. That is a whole other topic though. I read something today that said "The greatest mistake you can make is continually fearing you will make one." I thought that this made a lot of since and I could relate because another of my fears is to get up in front of people and sing. I love to sing and always have had the dream of making it as an artist. But my fears keep me from it. How do we let go of our fears to get past it and to move on? I think the best advice that I could give is to just put yourself face to face with your fear, look it in the eye and say out loud " I won't fear you anymore and your not taking anymore of me or my life"! That is easy to say, but sometimes hard to do. But I want to stop the fear so I will try. Good luck to all of you and overcoming what you fear the most.

"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself," said FDR famously. I'm not sure about that; but facing our fears is empowering. Thanks. You did a nice job on this topic that all people are familiar.
I'M AFRAID OF SPIDERS, COACH! NO REALLY I AM AFRAID OF THE OCEAN. THERE IS THAT DARK COLD LEVEL OF THE WATER THAT SOMETHING MORE EVIL THAN SHARKS LIVES.

lizrenee44, I have a fear of going out. I notice that I can control this fear by simply not staying in too much. As soon as I'm out for awhile, I'm fine and usually having a good time. Thank you for sharing. Kind Regards
Yeah...fears do suck! Another emotion I hate is anger, a 'sister' emotion to fear. Although they are polar opposites in flight or fight response, one emotion can definitely trigger the other. Have you ever been in a situation where you were so angry that you were scared? And you can't even explain why, it's just there...
Ehh, Life. =) Good post!
