Loan Forgiveness
74The word is out that Americans credit card debt is over nine hundred billion and a bailout is being considered which many feel is just banks trying to help themselves with regard to losing money. Because they see that there is a rise in unemployment and mortgage failures people will most definitely start to participate in some of the forgiveness programs that are out there.
Right now there are literally millions of Americas who face real financial issues. There has never been a time in our country where the number of distressed individuals has been this high. In an economy that's as distressing as the one we're facing, individuals who serve us the most are often hit the hardest. Fortunately there are forgiveness programs that help them to recover and get out from under the huge loans that paid for their educations.
There are some new forgiveness plan that have been proposed and they would be able to help about fifty thousand Americans who have a severe debt load to deal with. Especially those people who face the very real possibility of going bankrupt. The percentage of debt that will be forgiven increases in accordance with how bad the borrower’s situation is. Someone who would qualify for a large percentage would likely be a person preparing papers for filing personal bankruptcy.
The plan also would include kind of a damage control of sorts, in the form of counseling. Like an anger management class if you have road rage, you would be required to attend counseling for your debt issues and abuse. Credit-card debt counselors are standing by!
You still have to pay the balance on your debt and you might be able to qualify for some tax deferrals. It seems that the big lenders just want to get something instead of nothing. They are willing to initiate debt or loan forgiveness for the many people who have grossly mismanaged their credit privileges. Or those people who have fallen into problems due to being laid off and out of work. What ever the situation, the reality is that Americans are in trouble and there may be some help in the future.
There are already some forgiveness plans in place and I'll cover some of them with the remainder of this article.

Great hub! Thanks for sharing. Although, it's my understanding that any debt that are not paid back are written off by the debtor, and you can end up owing hefty amounts in taxes.
