Logitech Speakers – A Listener's Guide to Buying
65A complete guide to Logitech speakers, from laptop and desktop computers to home entertainment systems.
Logitech speakers are one of the most popular choice when it comes to buying speakers for your desktop computer, home theatre or laptop. If you are looking to provide a sound outlet for any of these things and more, you should definitely look at Logitech as one of the most reputable and highly prized manufacturers of contemporary speakers and audio equipment. And with such a wide range of equipment on offer you will be spoiled for choice.
The first thing to consider when looking around for a good set of Logitechs, is what you will be using the speakers for. If you simply want to provide sound from your laptop, notebook or netbook then look at Logitech's "V" speaker range, which are especially designed for such a purpose. The "V" series are a stylishly designed, two-speaker stereo range which plug easily into the audio output of your notebook, laptop or netbook. If you do not want to settle for the poor audio quality of your laptop's built-in speakers, then Logitech models such as the V10 Notebook Speakers and V20 Notebook Speakers are the perfect choice for you. They are basically a no-thrills speaker system designed to provide an enhanced listening system for portable computers.
If you are looking for something more from your sound equipment, Logitech also have a wide range of speaker systems that go above and beyond the simply two-speaker option of the "V" speaker series. The "X" and "Z" speaker systems are another very popular choice from the Logitech range, and they provide a wide range of listening quality, usually featuring a left and right speaker, a separate subwoofer for enhanced bass, and often a remote control for managing your audio playback. These are great for home theatre systems or DVD players which are attached to widescreen televisions, but they are also great if you want to stream music from a home computer. The "Z" series speakers from Logitech vary in what they include, but models such as the "Z-5500 Digital" offer full surround sound quality through six different speakers, as well as remote control over your audio playback, and a digital soundtouch control panel to control audio playback on all speakers, as it happens.
Like I said before, the model of Logitech speakers to buy really depends on what you want to get from them. If you are looking for an enriched musical or home entertainment system you should definitely look at something like the Logitech "Z" series, which will provide incredible detail and sound quality to whatever you are hearing. If you just want a better alternative to your built-in computer speakers then go for something like the "V" series. You should also note that the quality of sound you will receive depends partly on the quality of the audio playback equipment you are using -- for example, there is little point in using a very cheap quality DVD player with high quality Logitech speakers!
