2 for 1 London Attractions
London offers innumerable attractions from museums to galleries, making this a place where the differences between myth and legend get blurred. This is the perfect city to visit to get a grasp of history. All you have to do is to pass by the tower of London to get a sense of the historical importance of this city. The tower of London tower has been in existence from the 10th century when it was built by William the conqueror. Since then, it has served as a garrison, a prison and now as a treasury of sorts for the crown jewels. The crown being resplendent with the Kohinoor diamond is a sight for sore eyes and something that no tourist should miss out on. It is a good idea to make the tower of London the very first stop so as to garner an idea of the city itself, history at its very best.
Discount Theatre Tickets
The London theatre scene is one that defies any description; for the city is so stock full of shows that it is often difficult to decide which ones to attend. For entertainment and theatre tickets, you should head to the West End, central London. Most of the city's tourist attractions are located here and no London experience is complete without theatre tickets to a west end show, with all its glitz and glamour. Some of the shows can be quite enthralling like ‘The phantom of the opera', a production by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Charles Hart. This show features love, passion and the Paris scene, an entertainer to the very last chord. Some of the shows are of fast moving dances performed in a non-traditional manner such as Stomp. There are many such dance shows taking place all the time in West end. As a tourist, you should be able to obtain discounted tickets for some of these shows. But do note that Theatre tickets are naturally in demand and it is preferable to reserve them ahead.
Guide to London
London, has long since transgressed from its roman name of Londinium but parts of the original roman wall, can still be seen today. A visit to London is always bound to change ones perception with regard to the past. The London tower features prominently on any travel guide and with due cause. For this single building, existing since the 10th century has managed to encapsulate the city's story within its four walls. The London tower was originally built as a single white tower, roughly 90 feet high, 118 feet by 117 feet across and a mind boggling 11 feet wide, especially around the battlements. Since then, the London tower has been extended to form a complex series of buildings, becoming multi-functional, from being a palace to that of a dungeon. Today, we can all breathe with relief that the London tower no longer holds any nefarious agenda and that it is a tourist attraction, a place where we can all revel in its history.
The West end serves as the entertainment junction for all of London and it is here that one should head to, for the shows and the theatre tickets. There are quite a few shows here from murder mysteries to musicals, an extravaganza to the boot. The Chicago musical, based on the movie Chicago and a revival of the 1975 Kander and Ebb musical, is all about murder and fame, a sizzler to the end. The musical is currently featured in London and theatre tickets to this show can be bought directly. One should note that theatre tickets to this show are in demand and it may be better to book them ahead.
One of the best ways to see the countryside is by way trains; for the train tickets are quite cheap. They offer one a valuable opportunity to take in a bit of the English countryside, from that of the bucolic cow to the graying farmer. Train tickets can also be bought as season passes as such passes allows one to travel the length and breadth of England, at a lesser price. With regard to train tickets, the best way for families or groups of people to travel would be with Groupsave tickets.
