A study in America says that women aged 40 who are divorcees make up the largest number of lone traveler across the globe. They resort to traveling alone because they see it as one of the best ways to get away from everything and sort them out. Traveling alone to them is like soul searching and soul cleansing. They do not have to worry about pleasing their partner neither they have to spend their vacation trying to accommodate their partners needs. For them traveling alone is the best way to revive.

There are numerous other advantages that lone travelers have over others. The biggest motive for a single traveler is the freedom to choose. Right from the destination of the adventure activity to where you’d like to stay and what all you’d like to do there. This freedom is irreplaceable and no other form of traveling can let you hang in there as long as you want.

When you suddenly find yourself amidst a bunch of strangers you take all your time to adjust. You can decide to speak to them or immerse yourself in your book. Do whatever.. the choice is yours. The best part about being alone while traveling you can spend your time doing what you like. When you arrive at a destination you have the liberty to move around at your own pace, talk with the people there, you can choose what hotel you’d like to have your lunch at or whether to have it later or before. When traveling alone you can cent percent follow your heart. You can be spontaneous and that can give the satisfaction of making the most from your holidays.  

 Lone traveling until now sounds like a thing to do to escape the worldly miseries. True as it is it is also a fact that people in the creative fields like film makers, photographers, writers choose to travel alone by will. For them it is about being away from the crowds amidst nature to churn out new thoughts, to get new ideas, to be original. Creative minds always look for open spaces, huge mountains, snow and everything that is raw and natural. And traveling alone as the saying goes- broadens their mind. They prefer quietness, they value the freedom they get and they wish to return home with a lot of new perspective.

Whatever be the reasons for your travel one thing is for sure. When you come back after a solo trip you will notice changes around you. You will notice changes in you. Your experiences about a different place will make you see your current relationships in a different light. Probably it is your absence at home that made people miss you or maybe it’s just that exposure you’ve had at that place has made you change. It is difficult to point out the reason but there is hardly anyone who has traveled alone and has regretted the decision.
