Long Enough
I've now lived long enough to:
See afros come back into style
See rock stars become great grandparents
See the demise of the typewriter
See ordinary people using inventions that Dick Tracey would have envied
See the USA get into another stupid unwinnable war
See both a woman and a black man run for President
See medical care for the average Joe go down the toilet
See the airports falling apart
See the space program die
See Native Americans haggling over gambling turf
See all the green space between San Bernadino County and LA County disappear
See all the farms turned into malls and car dealerships
We all get older. How many of us get wiser?

The great advantage about living in such a technologically advanced age is that we can watch so many more once-great things go down the drain so much faster.
so well put, rogueletty. lol.
Thank New Improved Drano for keeping clogs cleared!
Poetic, great hub! Rogue, you had me laughing on that one. Does anybody even remember the Comodore 64? Iðunn, Mrs. Clever still had to tolerate Wally, the Beave and Eddie Haskel(actually, my hero), so her life wasn't that great. Great hub, Poetic Muse.
haha, I can't believe weasly eddie was your hero. :O mine was june. I still so want to be her. she is my ideal perfect woman - the woman I wished I was.
poetic muse, I'm glad you are writing more again. I very much enjoy reading your thoughts.

have shared those thoughts. great hub, poetic muse.
I think perhaps we were the luckiest generation ever. it was bad before and getting bad again, and somewhere in the middle was the golden time of June Cleaver, a clean ethical non-dangerous U.S. in which human lives were valued and happiness seemed achieveable.
I hope someday they figure out how to get it back. New Deal, Great Society... whatever they have to call it to make sure that all human beings have the opportunity to survive decently off their own labor.
