Any article about really long haired celebrities (at least in the US) has to start with country singer, Crystal Gayle. She famous for her dark, floor length hair. She may in fact have the longest hair of any world-famous celebrity! She apparently decided to grow her hair long after being forced to endure boyish haircuts during childhood. She now keeps her hair just 3 inches off the ground, and has been heard referring to it as "one of her children."

There are quite a few celebrities with long hair - Joss Stone, Giselle Bundchen, Miley Cyrus...the list could go on for miles. The problem with most of these though, is that it's hard to tell who truly has long hair, and who has helped nature out with extensions. Obviously, short hair one day long hair the next can be contributed to extensions .Celebrities in countries other than the US, tend to have longer natural hair that US celebrities.

Most celebrities, at least in the US, tend to shy away from super long hair, probably because of the hassle of styling it in the variety of ways needed for movies and TV. Crystal Gayle, however, has created a trademark with her long hair. Even her daughter has said that her mom just wouldn't be Crystal Gayle without her long hair.

Incidentally, Crystal's older sister, Loretta Lynn, has natural long hair, but no where near the lengths that Crystal's reaches.
