Look and Feel Younger

It is a fact that the younger you look the younger you feel, time is a hard task master and before you know it lines are starting to appear on your face and crows feet are starting to develop around your eyes, you spend a lot of money on creams and lotions to try and slow down the process of aging, but short of plastic surgery nothing seems to work.

Slowing down the aging process is a little easier though with a few little changes in your daily life and changing your beauty regime, can help to avoid the formation of wrinkles and a good hair dye can hide the little stands of grey hair that appear from time to time.

10 things that you didn't know were aging you and how to avoid them.

Winter Sun

Rubber Gloves

Glasses

Kissing

10 things that you didn’t know were aging you

Wearing eyeliner every day

Pulling at your eyelids everyday to apply liner starts to take effect over time, stretching the delicate skin and causing wrinkles.

You can either live without eyeliner or you could opt for a more permanent solution by having a liner effect applied, this method is quite expensive though but the semi permanent colour lasts for up to 3 years.

Sun Protection

Everyone knows the aging effect of the sun and the importance of applying sun cream when it is hot, but when the weather starts to cool down and winter arrives we forget that the sun is still there even if it is hidden behind the clouds, using a sun protection factor 15 sun cream all year round should help protect your skin from the rays of the sun which will prevent lines and uneven pigmentation in later life.

Rubber Gloves

The skin on the back of your hands is finer and thinner than the rest of the body and because it is more exposed to the elements it ages twice as fast, wearing rubber gloves when doing household chores will protect your hands and a good hand cream next to every sink in your home will remind you to use it.

Exercise

Exercise is a great way to help you stay fit and healthy, but over 4 hours of stamina training a week can affect the elasticity of your skin, gravity begins to take its toll in your mid 30s leaving you with saggy skin, running can also lead to saggy breasts and add extra pressure to your joints.

Sleep

Lack of sleep causes dark circles around the eyes and leads to sallow looking skin, regularly missing out on sleep can cause a decreased level of serotonin levels, the happy hormone that stops you craving sweet things, it is recommended that you get at least seven hours of beauty sleep every night.

Glasses

If you need to wear glasses then wear them by not wearing your glasses you will increase your chances of getting crows feet around your eyes, continually squinting to see things advances the onset of crows feet.

You should have your eyes tested at least once a year.

Smile and kiss

Smiling and kissing both use around 30 muscles that help keep your face mobile and toned, in a world without kissing or smiling we would all be literally be down in the mouth as our jaws would be saggy and drooping.

Drinking through a straw and smoking

If you think that not smoking means that you will avoid developing fine lines around your mouth then think again, frequently drinking through a straw can leave you with the same puckering and lines as a regular smoker.

Foundation

Sticking to the same foundation that you have used for years, just because you like that one, is a mistake.

Changing your foundation, as you get older is essential as we age skin becomes more translucent and loses its sheen, switch to a peachy toned, light - diffusing formula that will lighten and brighten your skin and apply it with a foundation brush.

Hair Style

Don't be afraid to try a new hairstyle, a side swept fringe will help to disguise lines on your forehead (cheaper than Botox), light layers will frame your face and soften your look.

Wow, some of those things I didn't know. The one about straws makes me sad... drinks taste better through a straw!

Great stuff, Jimmy...I enjoyed this one! Never thought about the eyeliner part but yes, repeated stress on thin skin can have that effect!
