Lets look at the concept of romantic gifts for a moment. What is a romantic gift and how do you come up with great ideas for romantic gifts for men?

Obviously a romantic gift is one which is given to a partner in a romantic relationship, or what is intended shortly to be a romantic relationship. It is given because it says something to the person to whom it is given.

Romance is part of a love affair between 2 people. It is about love, as opposed to the sexual part of a relationship, and emphasises the feelings of love between the 2 people. Romance is about feelings.

So a romantic gift is one which helps you bring out the feelings of love in your relationship. One which helps promote and emphasise those feelings, and perpetuate them.

What is the difference between a romantic gift and a sexy gift? Often there's not a lot of difference, in any relationship love, romance and sex are all bound up together. So what one person sees as a romantic gift another will see as a sexy gift, it's all in the eye of the beholder. What says love to one may well say sex to another.

However in my view romantic gift ideas are more understated than sexy gifts. They are more subtle, promote more feelings, and the giving of a romantic gift for your man should promote more togetherness than it promotes sex, more feelings, more companionship. It should make him and you feel good about the fact that you are both together, and strengthen the relationship. It says to him that you really love him.

So back to our initial question, how do you find romantic gifts for men? Maybe it's his birthday, or Christmas, and you want to say something to him about not just his birthday or Christmas, but how you feel about your relationship.

You want to tell him you love him in a sensitive and special way, and make him feel good about the relationship.

You need to spend some time thinking. You know your man well. Think about what has worked as a romantic gift in the past. What does he like about the relationship? What turns him on about you?

Does he enjoy private time with you, just the 2 of you together away from the bustle of busy life? If so then a special weekend away at a romantic venue might be a good romantic idea.

Does he enjoy spending time with you at the movies? Then why not a movie subscription for you both?

Does he enjoy reading? Why not a romantic novel personalized to your relationship by the inclusion of you both in the story, (yes you can do that) so you can both curl up in front of the fire and read it together?

See what I mean? It's all about what is going to work for him, and your relationship, and you. If he hates movies then a movie subscription isn't going to do much for him, and isn't romantic at all. If he isn't into reading a personalized romantic novel won't cut it.

So know your man, know what turns him on about you and your relationship, and start there when you're looking for great romantic ideas. It all comes down to the individuals involved, him, and you, and what your dig about your relationship.

And there's nothing wrong with a gift that's a little sexy, if that's what you think he, and you, will find romantic. Again it's about the 2 of you. Why not the weekend away and a little sexy gift for the evenings? If it works for the both of you then fine, if not then don't.
