Looking for Peace?
54I have in the past year transformed my life. I have more peace and joy then I have ever experienced. It started when I read Eckart Tolles "The Power of Now". This simple book teaches you how to live in the moment and reduce compulsive thinking. I moved onto "How to Turn Your Mind Into an Ally" and then realized I was studying many aspects of Buddhism. I began meditating. I realized through my recent studies and life changes that I had been DISTRACTED FOR THE LAST 25 YEARS! Obsessing on the past and dwelling on the future, completely forgetting the present moment. What was right in front of me.
With this new insight I am a better listener and thus friend, and have profound moments of calmness. Now I stop and watch the leaves sway in the breeze and am fully present with my daughter when she is telling me her stories. Read anything by Eckart Tolle, please!! "Awakening to Your Lifes Purpose" is his latest and greatest.

I feel "good winds" blowing and bringing kind thoughts of wisdom to all of us.
I´m also looking forward to read more from you! Thumb up.
I think I'll take your advise on this. Living in the moment is THE way to live, at least for me. Life is a journey. Enjoy it. Live it.
Point taken. I like that you say, that you're now "fully present with my daughter when she is telling me her stories."
Too often do we fall into the trap of wanting to work hard to provide a better life for our children but our children's lives are immediately better when we do something as simple as spending more time with them and being "fully present" when they tell their stories.
Thanks for reminding me of this Kelly!
Thanks for sharing this, that's great!
