Here's what I see looking into the eyes of Micheal Jackson

I have been a fan of Michael Jackson's for many years and no matter what
happens I and countless others will remain fans. Here's why.

You were loved in so many ways.

He was born Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 - June 25, 2009).

In this article I will not talk about Michael the entertainer but Michael the misunderstood. This article is not meant to disrespect his family in any way
shape or form.

Although it has not been proven that Michael was a victim of child abuse
his lifestyle behaviours gave many clues that he was a victim of abuse.

Here are some common things adults that have been abused as children
may do and here are some things that Michael did.

WHAT IS CHILD ABUSE?
Child abuse can take the form of any act of physical, emotional or sexual abuse perpetrated against a child. Child abuse can also take the form of neglect--ignoring the child's emotional and or physical needs. Child abuse can and does take place outside of the family--with step families, foster families or babysitters.

Relationship Problems--fighting, blaming, mistrusting, poor communication skills and difficulty with intimacy.

* Lisa Marie Presley - May 18, 1994 til January 18, 1996 - ended in divorce. Lisa Marie and Michael were married in the Dominican Republic.



* Debbie Rowe - November 15, 1996 til October 8, 1999 - ended in divorce.

* Low Self Esteem--self doubt, self blame, shame.

Painfully shy in person, the man behind "Thriller," the biggest-selling album in history, was a legendary dynamo in front of a crowd, raising the spectacle of pop concerts to a new level. Known for a lengthy string of upbeat pop hits both by himself on "Thriller" and with his brothers in the Jackson 5, he seemed increasingly sad and troubled in his personal life. A long-time supporter of children, the 50-year-old had been dogged for years by child molestation accusations, though he was eventually acquitted of all charges in a trial that played out as an international soap opera in 2005.

But maybe the biggest contradiction of all was that no matter how big the controversy that dogged him or how much financial adversity he faced, Michael Jackson always believed he would be able to come back. One day, he would be the King of Pop once again.

* Self Sabotage--self destructive or self mutilating behaviour.

Brian OxAt the root of his empathy for others' suffering was the well of his own emotional pain. In pursuit for the idyllic childhood he never had, he built a 2,500 acre paradise called Neverland. He preferred connecting with animals and children, with whom he could feel safe and reclaim his childhood. By engaging with unsavory people who used him, he replicated the pain of his father's betrayal over and over again. He tried to fill his voids through material possessions that cost him a fortune, and only when he was performing did he feel truly loved and accepted.man, the Jackson family attorney, told CNN that the superstar had a very serious problem with prescription medication, and that the people that were surrounding him were enablers. "If you think the case with Anna Nicole Smith was an abuse, it's nothing in comparison to what we have seen taking place in Michael Jackson's life."

Dr Eileen Bradbury, a consultant psychologist and expert on psychological consequences of cosmetic procedures, said the singer's obsession with surgery was part of a vicious circle.

"In my experience, people who have multiple procedures are quite fragile in their self-esteem and have difficulty accepting themselves," she said. "People with a history of abuse are more likely to have multiple procedures. If you can't change what is inside, then you try to change what is outside.

"Then, of course, the problem is that it never achieves what you set out to achieve, so it becomes a quest that will ultimately fail.

Symptoms of Trauma--feelings of fear, panic, agitation, anxiety, numbing of bodily areas, nightmares, multiple personalities, feelings of being disconnected from body.

Michael was on medication to manage many of these feelings.

Physical Ailments--includes psychosomatic illnesses, stomach aches, eating disorders, skin disorders, asthma, headaches and phobias.

Although Jackson's skin was a medium-brown color when he was younger, starting in the early 1980s it had begun to grow gradually paler. This led to widespread media coverage and rumors that the singer was bleaching his skin.

However, Jackson dismissed those suggestions in a February 1993 interview with Oprah Winfrey, admitting for the first time he suffered from vitiligo. He said lupus, which he was diagnosed with in 1986, was also partially to blame for his skin tone.

During that interview, he also spoke openly for the first time about accusations his father, Joseph Jackson, physically and mentally abused him from an early age.

In his 1988 autobiography "Moon Walk," Jackson wrote that he had two rhino-plastic surgeries and the surgical creation of a cleft in his chin. While he attributed the other changes in his face to puberty, a strict vegetarian diet and weight loss, those close to the singer said by 1990 he had undergone about 10 plastic surgery procedures.

Health Derails Appearances

Randy Taraborrelli's biography "Michael Jackson: The Magic and the Madness" claimed the singer became addicted to painkillers after allegations of child molestation in 1993. His health deteriorated to the extent that he cancelled the remainder of the Dangerous World Tour and went into drug rehabilitation for a few months.

Jackson was also advised to take some time off after collapsing during rehearsal for a HBO concert special on Dec. 6, 1995. The concert special was cancelled.

It is only fair to say that Michael had a fear of the media and many other fears as
many of us do. I can say that his fear of the media was not unwarranted after
all the paparazzi put him through.

Instead of judging who he was or obsessing on the sensationalist circumstances surrounding his death, it's my hope that people will use his tragic death to understand the power our childhoods have on who we become as adults. While heart failure may be what ultimately led to Jackson's demise, it was a broken heart that really killed him.
