Losing weight is not just about changing your body, it's about changing your whole life. You have reasons for wanting to lose weight, there is a feeling or a state of mind that you are trying to get to. Maybe it's a feeling of more energy, maybe it's a feeling of self-confidence, or maybe it's just feeling better for having a little change in your life; The point is that you are trying to get to a feeling and you need to start feeling it now if you want to get there.

Change Your Mind

As incredible as this may seem, your state of mind is the biggest obstacle you face when trying to lose pounds in days.

Our body reacts to what we think, stress is a good example of this. When you are stressed your body releases hormones (Cortisol) that actually increases fat production. How often do you find yourself worrying about

  • How much you weigh?
  • How much you've lost?
  • How quickly you're losing?

This stress is not helping you and if you want to lose pounds in days you need to find a way to get rid of it. If you lower your stress level you increase your chances of losing weight dramatically.

How do you solve this problem? Breathe.

Breathing is the most important thing in our lives and we rarely pay any attention to it. Focusing on your breathing can lower your heartrate, lower your stress level, and increase your health. Personally I practice QiGong (which literally means "breath work").

Qigong is widely accepted as one of the simplest and most beneficial ways to decrease your stress and improve your health. Unlike most exercises, the purpose of Qigong is to slow down. This practice will not only help you physically, it will improve your mental state as well by bringing you closer to the present moment (where everything is really happening).

An Alternative to QiGong

Sometimes our lives can be very hectic and sitting down for "breath work" is not always possible. Luckily there are alternatives out there and one of them is Holosync.

Change your Approach

Einstein once said that Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. It's very easy to do superficial changes without actually changing anything at all. I'll give you an example. Exercise.

Most of us have grown up thinking that exercise is vigorous, strenuous, and fast-paced; so it's no surprise that, when we decide we're going to lose pounds in days, our first impulse is to get into a regular exercise routine. Is there anything wrong with this? No. Is it change? Yes, but only on the surface.

Think about it, you've changed your routine but not really any of your beliefs or ideas. You've simply resorted to exercise the way you've always seen it or done it and because of that you will find yourself getting the same results you always have. To truly change you will need to try a different approach to almost everything, including exercise.

You do not have to be moving quickly or lifting weights to get into shape. Movement is all that is required, and focus. There is no point working yourself into a heart-attack just so you can be skinny when you have one. Find an exercise that improves your health, improves your state of mind, and relaxes you.

From my experience Tai Chi is the best form of exercise for health and focus. Like Qigong, Tai Chi is focused on slow movement rather than fast paced. But don't be fooled by this seemingly simple exercise, it is actually very challenging. You will build strength, you will lose pounds in days, and you will find endless benefits in your day to day life.

Change your Eating Habits

Usually, when we think of changing our eating habits, we immediately think of the most common diet programs like Low Fat or Low Carb diets. Unfortunately this form of change is also superficial and really doesn't change much at all (except how much you enjoy eating).

To truly change your eating habits you have to look at not "what" is in your meals, but when you're having them. True, you could have less fat or less carbs in your breakfast, lunch, and dinner but then you're still doing one thing that you've always done. You're having breakfast, lunch, and dinner; 3 meals a day (sounds pretty habitual to me).

Your body is used to this schedule and this is another big obstacle. To lose pounds in days you will have to change this as well. It's not hard to do, simply change how many meals you eat in a day. You're used to 3, how about trying 5 or 6. Since you're eating more often you won't have to eat as much and this will help in a number of ways.

  • You will feel full faster (as your stomach shrinks to match the new portions)
  • You will burn off the meal faster and make it easier to start burning off the reserves
  • You will boost your metabolism
  • You will still be able to enjoy eating

Change your Self Perception

Just like stress, your view of yourself can have huge impacts on your journey to lose pounds in days. If you beat yourself up for not accomplishing enough, judge yourself for how much you weigh, or constantly worry about what others think of you then you will never find the enjoyment of life you are looking for (even if you lose the weight you want). Even worse, you will have more problems losing the weight you want when you do these things.

This is the most important advice I have for you when it comes to your journey to lose pounds in days. Love yourself. Change your perception of yourself and the rest will follow.

Change your life because you genuinely want to make the most of it. Change your life because life is always changing; the best way to experience it is to change with it.
