The Mysteries of Lost Season 2 DVD

The Mysteries of Lost Season 2 DVD

Season 2

If every other episode of "Lost" in Season 2 seemed to open up a new part of the mystery, Season 2 DVD's are no different boasting more easter eggs, bonus scenes, behind the scenes clips and show humor, than even the extremely generous Season 1 DVD's did.

So be prepared now to unravel them all.

Mystery 1 - The Others Appear at Zero Hour

Insert your Disc 2. Wait as the menu clip fades fades and watch the counter as it resets to 0:00 (we know that's a dangerous number, don't we?) and watch as it suddenly shows a group of Others walking by.

Mystery 2 - Up A Tree

Put in Disc 7. Choose from the "Main Menu", "Phase 1" and then "Lost on Location" and the "Right Arrow." Highlight but don't click on "S.O.S." Press Right and then Right again and then finally Up. A dot will show up on the right of "S.O.S." If you're still patiently following the instruction, hit "Select."

After all your efforts you will now be rewarded with a documentary clip featuring a behind the scenes segment filming the scene with Bernard in a tree. This is the scene that appears near the beginning of the tail section survivors crash landing that recaps their own time on the island when Michelle Rodriguez's Ana Lucia discovers he is trapped in the tree.

Mystery 3 -Making of the Baking

Those Dharma cookies the cast were eating have to come from somewhere. Namely they have to be made and baked in a kitchen. That's exactly what this easter egg is about showing you the behind the scenes production of the cookies with the catering crew.

Insert your Disc 7. First go to the "Main Menu", move your cursor to where you see it says "Phase 3" and press up two times. The selection cursor will move to a white folder. Click "OK" and you'll see a video presentation on the making of the 290 Dharma Initiative cookies that took over eight hours, by the head of Lost's catering staff, Moumen el Hajji (Key Craft Services.)

This is a nearly one minute clip.

Mystery 4 - On the Beach with Evi

With Disc 7 still in your DVD player or DVD drive, go to the "Main Menu" and this time go to "Phase 2." Highlight but don't select "Sneak Peeks." Hit right and then right again. When you see the dot appear this time toward the right of "Return", hit "Select."

This will give you a special behind the scenes interview, "On the Beach with Evi", where Evangeline Lilly who plays Kate on the show talks about her part, what she did on her break, how she sees the season and answers some questions about its future and where she sees her character Kate going.

You can see some excerpts from that segment in the video clip on your right hand side to whet your appetite for the real thing.

Mystery 5 - The Hatch

With Disc 7 still in your drive, choose "Main Menu." Then go to "Phase 3." Then to "Secrets from the Hatch" but don't click on it yet. Hit Left and then Left again. When the dot appears by the right side of "Hatch", hit Select.

This will show you the Hatch mural that Locke sees and talk about its artist who drew it, Executive Producer Jack Bender, who created it, much as James Cameron created the drawing of Rose in "Titanic."

Mystery 6 - Snowman, Snowman

Keeping Disc 7 still inside, go to "Main Menu" and this time choose "Phase 1." Highlight "Fire + Water." Hit Left and then Left again. When the dot appears next to "Anatomy of an Episode", choose "Select."

This gives you a behind the scenes clip with Dominic Monaghan who plays Charlie telling the joke, "What did one snowman say to another?" This joke appears in the actual show.

Mystery 7 - Geronimo! Jackson!

Take out Disc 7 and this time put in Disc 4. Go to "Main Menu" and choose "Set up." Select "Register Your DVD." Hit the left arrow two times or move it to the left until a black semi-circle appears and hit Select. Then hit 5 and hit Select again.

If you're stuck on the album cover, go down to the bottom right and find a brighter patch of grass and click on it. You'll be rewarded with a brief feature of Supervising Producers Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz discussing the band Geronimo Jackson.

Note: This will only work on a computer not in your DVD player.

Mystery 8 - Bonus

This will only work on the Best Buy Bonus Disc. Click to "What Kate Did", hit left three times until the dot should appear to the right of "Did." Then hit Select. This will show you a cut scene of Hurley and Rose talking.

Mystery 9 - Oops He Did It Again

Again this requires the Best Buy Bonus Disc. Go to "Scissors", hit left twice and down and wait till the dot moves to the right of "Scissors." Hit Select and you'll see a "Lost" blooper scene in which fearless leader Jack has a little accident.

Mystery 10 - The Mystery Continues

Is there even a mystery 10? Anything is possible on the island. Explore for yourself and maybe you'll find it.
