A Poem About Love
Love: A Woman
The first time I saw Love, her dress fitting like a glove, she was sitting in the break room at work, I was trying not to stare but her beauty wasn’t playing fair, influencing my eyes to flirt, I wanted to proceed but I could tell indeed, Love was more than just sexy and fine, she was a breath of fresh air, a diamond elegant and rare, truly just one of a kind…
My break was only ten minutes but before my break ended, I knew I had to at least say hi, As I approached her with ease she knowingly gave me a tease as her dress revealed more of her thighs, Before the mood changed I asked her name she said Love and flashed an amazing smile, Women have smiled at me before, at the red light and in the store, but I hadn’t been phased in a while…
Our conversation was cut short cause she had to depart, but she told me what department she was in, We only spoke for a minute and my mind was all in it, I could tell Love has broke the heart of a few men...We started taking our breaks at the same time this was my game time, This is something I wanted to do, But Love asked me am I sure could my Love be pure, And could I handle what I was getting into....
Trying to get her to understand that being a one-woman man is something that I could handle, she said that she hoped that I could and hope that I never would get her caught up in a Love scandal...It was just a matter of time before she'd be caught up in my rhyme or at least that is what I believed, She was listening to what I said at the same time spinning her web I was the fly she was trying to retrieve...
Oh what tangle webs we weave when we try to deceive, she was only pretending to be quiet, At work she was low-pro but that was only a show, cause alone she was willing to try it...This was too good to be true someone who's perfect for you, uh-oh there goes those issues of trust, Love at first sight some don't believe but it's alright as long as you don't rush....
I was caught in Love's rapture I was her capture, blinded by false Love and good sex, Love had that look did I mention she could cook, Love was simply the best... Love got my mind all scrambled she said she thought I could handle anything she would put me thru, I said I can and I am, blocking out the negatives like spam, as long as she's good and true....Love said she knew this would happen after all of my mackin' I would get caught up in her to quick, I denied what she said but deep in my head, I knew she couldn't chase me away with a stick....
Love had other friends, I mean other men, that were part of her Love agenda, Thinking I was her only Lover but all along Love had others did she tell me, I couldn't remember...If she was doing it I wouldn't know tried to leave but I couldn't go who could I talk to who could I tell, After she told me what she was doing my hope for Love had been ruined, but she already had me under her spell...
I thought Love had come to save me but Love had only betrayed me, sad, but it's the same ol' song, Hurt before and hurt again seems to be following a trend, oh how I wish that I was wrong...
Desperate to find Love is my downfall but in the long-haul will I ever trust Love again, I will continue my search a force field to not get hurt, will Love understand that I just want to be friends...Love is a woman, that had me stumblin' I didn't know Love could scorch, Maybe Love was trying to test me I shouldn't let it affect me, but how long will I carry this torch....

Hi I could feel so much emotion in this poem. You have captured the immense pain that is felt when someone has let you down so much it hurts so badly. I loved everything about this. I have written some poems and I would love to invite you to read mine and give me your opinions. I am not a witer or a poet, but I found hubpages at a time in my life where I needed something to give me a purpose again, as I have a terminal illness and can't work.I have come to this place for a reason and I have met so many interesting hubbers. I would love to be your fan and invite you to be a fan of mine also God Bless BB
