Artful Resources Within Us

Why is it that when people should be the closest they turn away from each other? The loss of a loved one, and sometimes more than one at a time is hard enough. Rapid changes of any kind that cause us heartache can be devistating. One would think families would become closer, but that's not always the case. Is it because the hurt runs so deep we lose control of our emotions?

Has our ability to communicate become so compromised that we can't be understood? Do we become so lost about our own feelings we lose touch with our living loved ones?

"Love Dies Slower Than It Grows" is a favorite quote of mine because it is one of the most accurate statements in life. A very painful one, but nonetheless a very true one

The Heart knows no boundaries. It does what it is supposed to do. It lives, it loves, it breathes, it comforts, and it thrives on reciprocation. It helps our brain realize what is not logical might still be of significance.

The Heart is ever so Fragile yet people take it for granted everyday. Perhaps not on purpose, but they do.

When this happens, for those of us who have a gift of writing or painting we draw on it, punn intended. Channeling it into something positive, and possibly one of our best works is an ideal way to overcome grief. Not only do we come away with a feeling of a breath of fresh air, but we have somehow allowed ourselves an unexpected great release.

A famous Comedian once said " If you can't laugh at yourself than neither can anyone else"

Learning to laugh at yourself means you've arrived! The journey of going from teardrops to tears of joy depends on how willing you are to accept what life has dealt you at that particular moment. Call on your innerself, and listen closely. Play it over and over again in your mind until you can make sense of it. You may not have all the answers right away, but eventually you will. Ahh yes, and then the arrival of the epiphany.

I don't know who wrote this poem, but it is one of my very favorites.

"There is a beauty in the pathless woods,

a rapture in the endless shore...

I love not Man the less,

but Nature more.

If I was to title it I'd probably call it Human Nature.

THE ARTFUL RESOURCES WITHIN US can be an amazing adventure if we let ourselves do what we really enjoy, benefit from, and bring to others. George Burns said it best, "Fall in love with what you do."

LOVE DIES SLOWER THAN IT GROWS is a reason the heart gives us even when we don't ask for it.
