Love has overwhelming strength that can envelop us completely.
Love has overwhelming strength that can envelop us completely.

The strength of love is a powerful force. We have all heard stories about mothers suddenly having super-human strength and lifting cars up to save their children who are pinned beneath them. I recently read another story about a mother in Northern Quebec who risked her own life to save her 7-year-old son and his two friends from a polar bear attack. What gives these women the strength and courage to do these feats? Love.

Love has a force behind it and when great challenges arise, people are able to do the impossible. Where does this powerful emotion come from? There is an ancient text that explains this complicated emotion. It is the Bible. In First John 4: 16, the Bible says that God is Love. If God is love, and God is omnipotent (which He is), than human love can have great strength too, both physical and emotional. God created people in His own image and He created us to have a relationship with Him. That is where we can find the greatest kind of love. The love we learn from God is a love that can move mountains.

God loved us so much that He sent His only son Jesus to Earth. Jesus is the embodiment of God’s love for us. There is an often quoted verse, John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (NASB). Would you send your child to die for a child molester, a rapist, or a mass murderer? Would you send your child to die to save Hitler or Osama Bin Laden? No one would, but God did. Whether you rate yourself as a big sinner or a little sinner, God loves you and He does not want you to perish (go to Hell for all eternity). God excludes no one. He longs for all people to come to the true knowledge of His love and His Son Jesus, and be saved.

To know God is to experience real intimate love. The love you seek is not out there somewhere, it is in God, and you can come to Him though knowing Jesus, the embodiment of His love. It is easy to know Jesus. He loves you so much that He endured pain, humiliation, suffering, and torturous death to bring you life and salvation. Check this out for yourself. Ask Jesus to come into your life today. Ask Him to forgive your sins and cleanse you of all the unrighteous deeds you have done, and then ask Him to do something with your life. Then hang on, you will be in for the ride of your life. You will find you have love, joy, and peace beyond anything you could have ever imagined, and a purpose for being here.

Jesus loves us so much.
Jesus loves us so much.
