Love or Lust?

In this world all relationships between men and women are based on Lust. We romanticize this lust in our poetry and songs, but the basic fact is that all attractions between the sexes is based on physical desire. We think of Romeo and Juliet or Brad and Angie when we think of love. These relations are based on an animalistic passion. True love is a sense of unity and cohesion with the other person, and this is something we don't typically understand in our world.

Men and women complete each other and form a whole when they work together toward a common goal. The only true love is when both people correct their desire to receive and are focused on bestowal upon the other. Because bestowal is a completely foreign concept to all of us, there is no true love between the sexes in our world.

True love can be attained through the process of correction of the ego. Only through this process can relations be anything but an egotistical desire to receive. Once a person attains the ability to bestow love can be shared. But this is a love that we don't typically understand.

We generally become more friendly with people who have similar qualities to ourselves and this is why personality matching dating sites can be so successful in creating relationships and marriages. But even with our best friends and in the best marriages both parties are getting something that fills the desire to receive. This is why marriages are falling apart in our times because the desire to receive in men and women has grown to a point where there is no similarity of form at all. In the past, a man an a woman, who are opposite to each other, could live together and work together. But with our growing ego it has become nearly impossible to stay together past the first several years of animalistic pleasure.

True love only comes from bestowal. Love between a man and woman is only really seen after all sexual pleasure subsides and the two have formed one cohesive unit.
