Tips for Finding the Best Low Interest Credit Card Offers

With the use of credit rising, credit card debt has more than kept pace. It has been reported that the average American household now carries $8200 in credit card debt. For this very reason finding quality low APR credit cards can save you thousands of dollars on interest payments.

If you currently carry a monthly credit card balance and are paying a high interest rate then comparing credit card offers may be a wise move on your part. You may even want to consider taking advantage of one of the many credit card balance transfer offers that are currently available.

Balance transfer offers are used as incentives by the banks and credit card issuers to lure in new customers. These are almost always introductory offers and are often times offered as low as 0% APR and will have a set expiration, usually 6 to 12 months. Many cards will also offer 0% interest on new purchases.

While these are very enticing features, always be sure to understand what the interest rate will be when the introductory rate expires. If you are like most cardholders then the chances of you still carrying a balance at the end of the introductory period are pretty good.

I'm afraid that far too many people find themselves stuck paying high interest rates once again after their introductory period expires. Don't let this happen to you. Be sure to carefully read the terms on the application before you apply. Finding a quality low APR credit card takes a bit of homework.

Good tips. The entire landscape of credit cards is changing though because of the current credit crisis. I am recommending everyone get their balance transfers in now as well as apply for any new credit cards as the requirements are tightening dramatically for approval.

Couldn't agree more. You've got to take advantage of any offer right now. Credit card companies are going to pull a lot of them out soon.
