Many perimenopausal women complain of low libido. Fortunately, it is one of those menopause symptoms that isn't too difficult to help. Sexual function is a very complex phenomenon that reflects the health and balance of ourselves as a whole. Studies show a woman's experience of sexual arousal is more influenced by her thoughts and emotions than by anything else! A woman's own perception of "being menopausal" may play a major role in her sexual functioning. Society has brainwashed us into thinking that menopause is the end of a woman's sexual attractiveness. Many women buy into this thinking. The good news is this can be changed! By changing your thoughts, you can rekindle a low libido. Here are some ways to help you light that fire once again.


Communication & Intimacy

Being able to talk about sexual changes in your relationship is very important. Take the time to make a personal connection with your partner. Men have difficulties too that are very hard for them to discuss. Erectile dysfunction is a very common for men in middle-age. If these issues are not discussed, it's easy to drift apart and build a wall between you. Releasing built up anger and resentents and resolving problems in an existing relationship can provide a huge boost in sexual energy.

Mood

Women need to take responsibility for getting in the mood. We become what we think about all day long. At mid-life, with so many stresses and responsibilites, you need to decide to have a sex life. It has been said that your brain is your biggest sexual organ. Read a sexy novel, fantasize about forbidden fruit, enjoy watching a sensual movie together or even by yourself before your partner comes home and surprise him with your desire! A woman's desire is one of the most potent aphrodisiacs in the world. A woman who feels beautiful, sexy and irresistible has the ability to turn herself on and enjoy a fabulous life!

Technique

Learning to pleasure yourself to the point of orgasm is an invaluable skill when it comes to making love with your partner. Once you know, you can teach him ways to please you and make your intimacy even deeper. Practice giving each other massages. Use sensual music to set the mood, turn off the phones, and lock the bedroom door. Nothing can kill a mood faster than thinking one of your children can walk in at any minute!

Check your homone levels

Ask your doctor for hormone testing. Your estrogen may be too high or your testosterone too low. Bioidentical hormones are great ways to supplement and balance your hormones to get them back to levels when you felt wonderful.

You need to believe that you are worthy of the best that life has to offer! You have the power to attract the best by making time for and concentrating on what brings you pleasure. Remember that you become what you think about all day long. Make those thoughts good ones!
