Lower Back Pain Cures

If your back is injured then you can expect to have back pain for some time afterward; research into this problem is ongoing but so far only short term back relief remedies are available. Pain relief is possible with the medications available but that is all they do and the reason for the pain continues. Many people with spinal problems become addicted to the medication that relieves the back pain but this should really be the responsibility of a doctor.

The back is under a constant strain throughout our lives and whilst it is very strong, it can be injured without to much difficulty; poor posture can also result in damage to the back and can happen when a person is quite young. Of course the most common way to injure your spine is by lifting heavy weights or lifting them incorrectly. Many people are now turning to other methods of gaining back pain relief which do not include the use of drugs.

An easy, inexpensive method to treat pain and bring relief is stretching; it actually relaxes the back muscles which can become knotted and tight, causing discomfort. Another type of treatment called reflexology uses a massage technique applied to the feet; it works very well in relieving back pain. Reflexology can also help to improve the body's blood circulation and relax muscles.

Acupuncture on the other hand has been used in China since before the birth of Christ and has had considerable success in helping sufferers. It is providing back pain relief even though this is something that has only recently being used in the Western world. Followers of traditional Chinese medicine are of the belief that every person has an inner energy force (chi) that reflects of our state of health, mental and physical. Acupuncture needles help to release trapped or sick energy (chi) when inserted at particular points in the body. There are large numbers of people that use acupuncture on a regular basis and claim it works well for them providing pain relief; especially those who have what is termed a chronic condition.

The Chinese discipline of tai chi has also provided relief as it uses yoga like principles. It is far easier and much slower so there is less likelihood of further damage being caused. The most important aspect of tai chi is that almost anyone can participate as it uses gentle breathing exercises and techniques to help relax the body. To finish, it is a good idea not to forget the huge benefits that exercise can bring in providing back pain relief; by exercising regularly there is less chance of a back pain attack.

Different methods like tai chi and yoga seem to be effective, but they can be expensive and limited availability. It has been show that 68% of the time that exercise alleviates or cures back pain all together. On the Internet there are many easily accessible and affordable programs available for to cure lower back pain. One program is called "The Guide To Back Pain Relief" by Mike Stiveson. This program gives exercises that will often cure pack pain. While most back pain is caused by muscle problem one should always seek out professional help to make sure that the pain is not a symptom of a more serious problem.
