We all know that putting an end to global warming is a very serious and urgent project. Luckily, lowering your carbon footprint is so simple and easy! Not only does it dramatically lessen the tons of carbon we all dump into our precious environment, but it helps you to save tons of money too! All you have to do is follow these 10 simple tips and you'll be one more person doing good for the world-and you can start this second! You don't have to go out and buy a million expensive products to be 'green' either! Its all about using only what you need and recycling what can be reused. Simple and no matter how small the contribution, it leaves an amazing impact of less and less output into our once beautiful earth. Lets begin!

Here Are 10 Tips To Save The World And Your Money:

1. Energy Saving Lightbulbs.Replace all of your lightbulbs with CFL bulbs (or Compact Fluorescent Lights.) Just be sure you get the correct wattage replacement. For example: A ceiling light or lamp light in your home is a 60 Watt bulb. When you replace it for a CFL, get the CFL with the box that says "60 Watt Replacement." CFL's last longer than ordinary bulbs and use less than half the regular wattage therefore reducing its output on the environment by using less electricity. And because of this, your electricity bill will be way cheaper which saves you lots of money.

2. Combine Your Errands all in to one trip and get them over with. This saves you alot of time and gas. Less gas used=less smog into the atmosphere.

3. Walk When Your Destination Isn't So Far. Do you live right next to the store? Are you only going to buy a few things? Why not walk!? This:

A) Saves the environment from more negative output.

B) Benefits your health by getting you outside and moving.

C) Saves a bit of mileage off your car.

D) Saves you money since you don't have to fill up with gas as soon because you're not driving.

4. Get Money For Sparing Resources.7 letters: R-E-C-Y-C-L-E! Recycling is one of the best things for the environment. Why not reuse what can be reused!? Just fill up a couple of big trash bags with your empty glass and plastic bottles. When they get full, take them to a recycling stand (usually found behind or beside grocery stores or just look up in the yellow pages) where you get it all weighed and get money for it! The more you recycle, the more money you get back.

5. Spare The Desperately Needed Trees! Consider paying your bills online. This saves the paper by sending out less envelopes and letters. This also saves you time since you're getting your bills out of the way quickly, and you don't have to buy more stamps. Another way is to opt out of both paper and plastic bags at the store, and buy the reusable grocery shopping bags! Their usually only .99 cents and are fun to use. Most grocery stores have these available up near the check-out lines (such as Safeway and Trader Joe's.)

6.Grow Your Own Garden This way you are giving to the environment. Plants and trees give our Earth oxygen. Not to mention, some flowers help bees and butterflies as well. Gardens are also relaxing and peaceful.

7. Don't Use If You're Not Using It! Turn off your lights when not in use. If you're going to another room, turn off the lights in the previous room. And yet again, your bills become noticeably cheaper. And do the same with your A/C and heater. If you're leaving then turn them off. And if you don't really need them, then don't turn them on. It helps in the summer to buy 'black out' blinds for your windows. This keeps all the hot from coming in your windows and forcing you to turn the a/c on full blast all day because of the magnifying heat. Amazingly, these blinds help in the winter as well since they act as a sort of insulation barrier, keeping the cold air from creeping through your room and making you turn on the heat full blast all day.

8. Do NOT Litter Recycle everything that can be recycled (glass, plastic, cardboard, paper, etc.) and hold onto your trash until you get to a trash can. It isn't hard at all and it keeps the community, oceans, creeks, state parks, parking lots, highway shoulders Everything junk free and more attractive. Not to mention it saves the animals as well. If you somehow find it hard to not litter you can buy a little auto waste basket for your car and just dump it when it gets full (it will make your car more attractive too!)

9. Unplug Items If you are not using it, then unplug it. Its as simple as that! Coffee pots, laptops, computers, hair dryers, cell phone chargers, iPod chargers, fans, tv's, lamps, radios, blenders, shavers, paper shredders...everything that is not in the act of being used should be unplugged. Even if the item plugged in is turned off, it is still drawing electricity and making a negative impact on the earth. Not to mention, electricity companies do charge you for plugged in items-whether they are on or off! You can even make it easier by plugging all of your stuff into a power strip and simply turn it off when your stuff isn't being used.

10. Conserve Water.Turn your water off if you're not using it. Don't leave it running even when you're brushing your teeth or when you walk away for a moment' to clean something. Keep in mind that it takes energy to heat up water as well. If you have sprinklers, make sure they go off when the garden is watered as much as it needs to be, instead of making puddles and wasting water. It's also a good idea to set the sprinklers to go off at night time.
