Lucidal™

Overview
Lucidal™ is a nutritional supplement designed for the enhancement of brain function. According to product advertisement, Lucidal™ is useful for sharpening focus, enhancing brain speed, improving recall, increasing alertness, elevating mood, and even reducing anxiety and sadness. Based on a complex of organic ingredients, Lucidal™ hopes to cure what ails most of our brains at one time or another.
I’m not completely convinced by Lucidal’s™ presentation, however. The product website looks suspiciously similar to other products that promise the exact same effects via a very different ingredients formula. In short, Lucidal™ appears to be one weapon among many in the marketing arsenal of a single company intent on making a buck off of the consumer’s desire to be smarter, forget less, and feel good all the time. I’m not inclined to support such companies.

Ingredients in Focus
From this staggering list of promising nutrients and other ingredients, the following are of brief note:
B Vitamins are generally associated with brain energy and health. Choline is thought to aid in enhancing mood and memory. DMAE (dimethylaminoethanol) is an antioxidant that seems to positively affect the brain and is used to treat ADHD, enhance the memory and mood, boost cognitive function, and improve overall performance.
And finally Huperzine A is currently under clinical investigation as a treatment for neurodegenerative diseases. However, negative side effects can include breathing problems, chest pain, diarrhea, vomiting, skin irritations, upset stomach, hyperactivity, and insomnia.
Pros
- Website does include a section for clinical evidence.
Cons
- Website is a lot of fluff for a little bit of pay-off.
- Product does not stand out from others on the market.
Final Thoughts
Half of Lucidal’s™ formula reads like a nice multivitamin. In this regard, it is a positive option on the market. However, the second half of the formula is rather a conventional offering that does not recommend Lucidal™ over many other, similar products. I’d recommend shopping around a bit more. There are simpler, more direct brain-enhancing formulas that don’t rely obscure their purpose with long lists of ingredients. Lucidal™ is, in the end, forgettable.
