How to Set a Luncheon Table Setting

You must have sometimes noticed that a decorative and well set luncheon table makes the food that is served look even better. This is actually true just because our senses are connected to what is pleasing to the eyes can also make the food that is served more pleasing.

As your table setting is the main point of all the occasions where you serve the food, you would also want to make sure that all the appropriate piece types are set in the right manner to accommodate the guests that would also make the festive event better. There are a few steps that you can follow to set up a luncheon table, whether it is a formal or an informal event to make it a unforgettable experience.

Luncheon Table Setting

With the busy schedule of most of the people it might be a bit hard to even get the opportunity to have a sit down lunch with you family, friends or colleagues. However, if you can get some time to plan this event then you can plan a mid-day holiday meal or bridal luncheon that would require good luncheon table setting.

How to Set the Luncheon Table

As you start from left to your right you would have the bread and butter plate that would include a butter spreader knife. This would be ideal for a slice or roll of sweet bread. Apart from this the most important is napkin that can be either a quality paper version or carefully folded cloth. You can even get creative with some traditional folded napkins or can just use a suitable napkin ring. If you lack a luncheon fork in the flatware set then you can also use a regular dinner or place fork. The luncheon plate is also the most important for a well set luncheon table but is you do not have a perfect size of the plate then you can also feel free to use your dinner plates.

If you would be serving some soup or pasta then just use the traditional rimmed soup bowl, that would be perfect. However, an average cereal bowl would be great when you serve some fruit salad. Your normal dinner knife would also be perfect as an alternative to the luncheon sized knife. Finally, you have the glassware of water, wine or for any other drink. You can use a high ball type of tumbler to serve water or other beverage or you can also wish to choose a stemmed goblet. You can then use a stemmed wine glass if you have also included wine in your luncheon event.

Good hub, I agree that a well set table really shows off the meal you are serving on it.
