MARUTI SUZUKI SWIFT DZiRE REVIEW

MARUTI SUZUKI SWIFT DZIRE!!!!The New sedan car which is going to replace MARUTI ESTEEM.I would like to call it new ESTEEM rather than new SWIFT.MARUTI SWIFT DZIRE will be the lowest priced diesel car in sedan segment and after the launch it will surely rule the DIESEL car market in india.

It took nearly two years and Rs.30 crores to develop this sedan version of MARUTI SWIFT hatchback. Its really the marvel of japanese technology for indian roads.MARUTI SWIFT DZIRE will hit the markets on MARCH 29th.

Maruthi used to be a king in giving cars with better mileage, but for some reason recent release of Maruthi are poor in mileage compared to the other peer cars in the market. For eg., logan gives a great mileage, but dizire gives lower than logan. I was looking for a car exactly like dzire, becaues I am a fan of maruthi, but after hearing that the mileage is 11kmpl, i am afraid to take it. With the hike in fuel price, it makes the running cost of this car toooo high. I would wish maruthi come up with a good mileage car. but since all the new editions has come up now, its just a dream for me :-)

Whoever told you that the mileage is 11. The promised mileage of swift DZire is 15-16 for petrol version and 20-22 for diesel version. Now that's not bad at all. I am yet to see a maruti car that gives bad mileage.

Hi Guys,

Does any one test drive Dzire Petrol Varient. I see reviews of only VDi model. Am planning to book Petrol model, waiting for reviews on Dzire Petrol.

andy  says:

I have booked a dezire Vxi today after doing a research for almost two months. I took a test drive today and found it very attractive at a price band of 5.3 lakhs on road.

Initially I had booked Swift Vxi which would have costed me 4.65 (on road price in noida)+ 20-25k (for stereo+4 speakers+tinted glasses+keyless entry locking)= 4.9 lakhs approx.

But with dezire Vxi I am getting all these + a 464 L trunk and that too for 5.28 lakhs. I guess its worth investing 40k for all these.

I think one must go for dezire rather then swift VXi/Lxi.

Dear manufacturer, I am using Maruti 800 for the past 10 years. I wanted to go for a bigger car and I was looking to test drive the possible models. During this check, I have encountered a serious problem which I thought I need to share with the manufacturers. While entering the car itself, I was not able to go in and my knees are touching the steering wheel housing in all models. I am only 5 feet 6 " tall. Except Santro Xing and Maruti 800, all models of all makes have this problem. I am astonished why such an important ergonomic factor is missed from the designer's perspective and eyes. I wish to convey my feeling as a customer that whenever customer wants to go for a higher models, he looks for better comfort than the existing model because he is ready to pay also good amounts. But he would not like to lose a comfort which he was already having in lower version models. I am also a design engineer from reputed institute (IIT). I know what constraints can be there during change of designs andnew designs. But there are certain essential aspects which cannot be ignored. You take my example, I want to buy a car around 6 to 9 lakh. I have tested SX4, Verna, i10, Swift, Alto, Logan, Honda city etc. But in non of these cars I am able to get in or get out easily as in Maruti 800 or Santro zing. I have to yet to test Maruti dZire, TATA Indigo and Ford. I am not confident that I will succeed in getting a car with this minimum essential feature. This message I am trying to send to all manufacturers so that at least in the next version of designs it is taken care. As a consumer, I had to express my feelings of dis-satisfaction. I do not know why so far no representations are done. You can understand now, even though I want to buy a big car, I am not in a position to buy and I am forced to buy either Maruti 800 or Santro Xing.

Arvind Singh  says:

Maruti had not foreseen such a response to Swift Dzire. So obviously the supply is less than demand for this car and hence such long waiting period. But I think DZire is worth waiting for. Don't change the booking.

Sanjay Kapadia  says:

Hi,I am really impressed with this Sedan. Interiors and the exterior looks awsome. I also took a test drive of a Petrol and a Desel version. Both seemed pretty good. Surprisingly diesel also has good pick up as the petrol with neglegible noise. I want to confirm with one mechanical feature - shock absorbers. I dont now whether its a roumer or the news which i have heard is ture about the shock absorbers. Maruti has used the same shock absorbers as in swift and that is creating a problem in Dzire when the boot is havily loaded. Shock absorbers used are not sufficient n Dzire. Is that true due to which maruti is planning to slow down the production and rectify this problem in all the produced cars. OR are they dispatching the ready cars in the market without rectifying the problem?

I HAVE DECIDED TO GO FOR SWIFT DEZIRE HIGHEST MODEL BUT I AM CONFUSSED BETWEEN PETROL OR DIESEL. PLEASE SUGGEST ME. MY RUNNING IS NOT MUCH APPROXIMATELY 500 KM PER MONTH.PLEASE GIVE GOOD SUGGESTION.

Rajavel  says:

Its a thum rule. If you are driving less than 1500km per month blindly go for petrol. If you drive 500km per month, then it takes more than 5 years for you to recover the 1lkh difference that you are putting for diesel car.

Underproduction \ no production and not the overbooking is the reason for delayed deliveries of Dzire. "Overwhelming response" as being told to customers by MSIL marketing dept is plain crap. Ask MSIL dealers on how many cars they have delivered since launch and you would know the truth that there are no cars for delivery. MSIL is just monkeying around with customers by launching Dzire and not delivering the same.

Aman Verma  says:

Please check your facts Abhay. Maruti sold 5658 Swift DZire cars within 5 days of March after launch. This is a record for any sedan sold in India. And you don't think it is an overwhelming response. Imagine what the booking figures would be as of date.

big boss  says:

HEY ALL BULL SHIT I THINK MARUTI PEOPLE ARE FOOLING ALL OF US AND IT IS RIGHT THAT THERE IS LESS PRODUCTION. THIS SELL FIGURE IS TOTAL WRONG AND THE PEOPLE FROM MARUTI ONLY ARE PRODUCING THIS RUMOURS.I THINK IT IS IA GOOD CAR BUT LOW PERFORMANCE IN TERMS OF FUEL EFFICIENCY IN PETROL MODELS AND OVERLL RATINGS

Aman Verma:

Maruti "booked" 5638 Dzire within 5 days of launch and not "sold". "Booking" is different from "delivering". In other words they have 5638 idiots waiting and calling their dealers everyday like beggars. I am one of them because I booked my Zdi on first day of launch. Mine was first booking in Mysore town which is 2nd largest Maruti Sales city in Karnataka. Also this is not my first but 8th Maruti car in as many years... what more of a loyal Maruti customer do you want to cry horse??? There are many blogs where people like me are feeling like cheated. You got it right now???

Can some one tell me What is the Mileage of the Car i.e Dezire VXI Petrol ?

SG  says:

The mileage that you can expect from the pertol version (VXi) is: Around 12 KM per Litre in the city and around 15 KM per Litre on the highway. This is under normal driving conditions. If one revs it too hard, the mileage will of course take a beating!

MSIL's fraud is complete. They declared "introductory" price and delivered none causing large waiting period. I can say this with 200% confidence because mine is first booking in 2nd largest town of Karnataka and I haven't yet got the car. Now that they have increased the price, I am sure they will start delivering and waiting period will go down. Look what happened to SX4 last year?? They created artificial shortfall and today they are offering goodies of 25,000 for you to buy SX4. Expect the Ditto for Dzire. Dzire has created kind of bad blood like no other car for MSIL.

As petrol & deisel prices are getting higher & higher i guess buying cars prices should become cheaper, there will soon be a time when people will start petrol & deisel as gift items. Prices of maruti cars should be reduced, dzire should cut it prices, max for that car should be 4 lacsfor the top model in deisel variant. and basic should be 3 lacs, if they are able to do it there sales (supply) will never meet the demand.

Thanks a lot to INDUS MOTORS as only indus had some stock with them. This is my third maruti car & all from INDUS MOTORS.

Its really a great car, driving is very comfortable and smooth.I am driving it for the last 6 days.right now mielage is 10-12 but I hope it will definitely improve after 1st service. If any user of Dzire Petrol who has finished its 1st or 2nd service, pls let me know the real figure abt mielage.

One very important feature of Dzire Petrol is that its torque profile is almost constant throughout at any speed.1000 to 6000 rpm it remains same.so you wont feel any amt of jerk while changing gear from 1st to 5th.

though Diesel engine DDiS will start picking up only after 2000 rpm.

Abhay  says:

I got my Diesel Dzire ZDi last week. Finished 1000k of running-in and got 18kmpl for first 1000kms. First service done yesterday. Now expect this mileage to go up. Will report the situation with each top up. This is top end version at almost 8lakhs OTR price. Few notes: No electric mirrors, no bottle holders in front doors, horn seems to blow into passenger cabin and not outside, brakes do not bite as much as I would like to, pretty bad plastic smell which I am trying hard to get rid of. These are small things which I did not like. However, overall a superb car. Great driving pleasure, perfect driver ergonomics, fun to drive, a gem of an engine, smoother gear box, perfectly balanced steering... I can just go on. In fact I gave away my SX4 ZXi to my wife and took Dzire ZDi under my belt. What else???

Hi,

I bought a swift dzire lxi & have run about 300 kms. I need to travel outstation tomorrow & it will about 750 kms. Since I have not yet completed 1000 kms of drive, what is the speed that is recommended till 1000 kms & is it ok to get the vehicle serviced at 1050 or 1100 kms

Hi Srikanth,

You can surely go for a long ride on Swift dizire. Nothing to worry. Just ensure that you are not crossing 100km/hr. Keep it in between 80-90km/hr.

Happy journey

OH MY GOD!!!!!...its just awsome...none of the cars in its segment can beat it...yes....trust me , I even bet on this part :-))..... Intially I had little concerns about its fuel consupmtion.... but it has been proved okay so far and hopefully same will shoot up once I get 2nd service.. In a city like CHD it gives me around 12 but when I happend to drive towards Delhi mileage hit around 16..that I feel not bad bcoz the Car has run only 1000KM till now.... lets c...how it treats me in future.. :-))

HI, Checked today - all the dealerships are now saying there is a six months waiting period for the Zdi / Vdi in all of Mahrashtra - but I know guys who've gone into the showroom and walked out with a car. All this is just a ploy by the dealers to push up the premium on the DZire and surprisingly Maruti Suzuki seems to be allowing it. I believe if you are willing to part with 50K extra you can get the car ont he spot! What Maruti doesn't realise is that it is pushing away loyal customers to otehr brands - I have no choice - I cannot wait 6 months and I am NOT paying 50K extra to bribe someone. It is Maruti's loss as far I am concerned.

Hi guys.. i was mesmerised for quite sometime.. but suddenly I got my brains working... ok let's start with the basics..

The diesel version of DZire is approximately 1.5 laks more than it equivalent petrol variant. Only reason to buy the diesel version is because diesel prices are less by approx 33% than petrol in India. But if you have to recover this 1.25L difference you have to drive the same 33% more mileage than the petrol version. Say that took 5 years to recover that 1.25L based on fuel prices. Here is the catch:

Catch 1: Who said diesel prices in India are going to remain subsidised for the next 5 years??

Catch 2: If you have to drive 33% more mileage on a diesel car then what is that diff in mileage going to do to the car's depreciation. what will be the resale value of the diesel car after say 5 years??

Do you still feel buying Diesel variant at a whooping 1.5L diff in price than its petrol variant make any sense. SOcho...Think..

Hi all,

I am not a regular comment poster on websites. But I would really take a chance to do now after owing a swift dzire Petrol version. or rather say Lxi. I know this will not be so much meaningful to those who owns this car, but gonna certainly help who are planning to purchase a dzire or a sedan car.

Believe me this one of the vehicle in market which competely justifies your money. I am nor sure within this much of Budget you can get this kind of luxury, comfort and a pride to drive a sedan car thats too from the biggest brand of India. I did a lot of research at least for an year which was very painful to hold on for such a long time, but it really paid off, once I decided to go for dzire. I am the one who know the specification of all the sedan models now in market in, but relax i am not gonna run you through long comparing data in terms of different parameters rather I will suggest you in a final senetence GO FOR DZIRE..It doesnt matter which version you perfer or suits to you..JUST GO FOR IT.

I had got my dream car from MAGIC AUTO, Delhi. Metalic Silver. And I really appreciate Magic Auto for providing me this car in record time of 15 days from booking. They even said that if my loan would have approved before this, they would have delievered the car before this time . Wonderful..

I really feel good to be owner of DZIRE.

Hi ...... AM a beginner in terms of driving and cars but am really like sedan looks.... I am looking for a car which has low maintainance and good resale value, my usage will be 500 -600 kms per month in city may go on long drive once in a month for about 100 kms max..... am looking a car which has got low maintainance and my budget is around 4-6 Lakhs ..... there are 6 member in my family and am 5.10 " tall, but i may use car once in a week for family use.... I really like swift dezire looks (i think it has got min waiting period of 4 months) and mahindra logan is not great looks wise but its comes around 4.5 Lakhs.... so it will be really helpful if i could get some suggesitions and options to buy a car..... waiting for your answers......... :-)

suhail  says:

Plz suggest me

Ajay  says:

Hi Suhail.... if that is the case then defntly u shud b going for a Petrol varient..2ndly , the point is whether u shud opt Dezire or Logan... both r in deed nice sedans in their own segment but Dezire excels Logan in terms of look and comforts.. I own Dzire Vxi that I got 5 months ago... till now m prety satisfied with my selection.. in fact I was also in a big dilemma but finaly I decided to go for Dzire..after considering few suggestions given by some experts...like Maruti's status in the market , looks of Dezire , driving comforts , etc... yes, when it comes to fuel consumption then Logan stays just a head... but other features provided by Maruti can not be avoided.. More over I personaly feel the Car which is running on the road as normal Cabs can not be my sedan.. :-))

Choice is always urs buddy :-))

suhail  says:

Hi ajay... Thanks a lot for your response dude... i do understand that dezire is good interms of looks and comfort ... reason why i opted for dezire is, this is one of the cheapest sedan in disel version and logan in one of the cheapest sedan in petrol version.... since am a beginner wanted to know if i can go for dzire(diesel version)...the reason y am opting for diesel version is when i get into gas station may be ill have smile on my face because diesel value is lesser than petro.... really dont know much about cars so wanted if i can go for diesel version being a beginner because i will not have to spend much on petrol...though dzire vdi would cost around 6L am thinking may be i can save some money on petrol...... because my family memberers are suggesting me to buy a small car and when am versitile with driving may be i can buy a sedan is wat they are saying, but can't really think any other car apart from sedan version so will dzire be the good choice or do i have to wait for new cars or should i recearch some more on other cars....... A detai suggestion would be helpful... :-)

Ajay  says:

Hey Suhail... As far as your needs are concerned I wud rather suggest you to go for a petrol varient.. the reasons are quite clear..since u dont have to commute daily by car so ur vehicle defntly wont be running on the road very frequently, which is the basic fact for owning a dsl varient.... it shud be driven more and more to keep the engine live.. like min 30-50 km daily.. that is not the case at ur and.. hai na?? 2ndly.. as u said u r gonna get sedan first time and dont have much knowledge about this segment then u shudn't go for dsl varient bcoz it demands pretty more maintance than ptrl.. and it really makes a big descrepency... if u calculate the cost of a petrol car + othr expencies up to 3 yrs like fuel price+ fuel consumption+maintance+ regualr services etc and compare the same with a dsl vareint for same period ,trust me it sets around the same..more or less.. So if the money-matter fact is same in both cases and u dont have to be much worried after owning a ptrl car thn y shud u opt dsl.. :-))..

in fact this is my personal outlook or point of view....:-))

u can even look upon some other Cars in the same segment..like Ford Ikon, Indigo , Logan ... but I dont feel any of them worth buying... ;-)

suhail  says:

HI ajay thanks for your response, guys will it be a good choice if i could buy a used maruthi esteem fit a gas then go for diesel version.... since i was told that diesel car needs to be handeled by a person who is versatile in driving.... and am a fresher in terms of cars and driving .... if any other cars of suggetions plz do suggest me...

suhail  says:

I have decided to opt for used cars as of now once am used to driving may be i can go for a diesel car's .... i wanna know if maruthi esteem will be a good choice?

Ajay  says:

well Suhail.... If u have madu ur mind to own a used car..then fine..its even better.... so maruti (Any model or segment) seems to be a good choice again in the used cars...

Just wanted to compared used Esteem and ikon which one would be better choice.... dont know how come this line doesn't appear in last comment? plz suggest me

Ajay  says:

Hii..It defntly depends upon the model..if both are same yr model..thn u really need to look upon diff points of both the sedans.. where Ford ikOn gives u a royal nd deshing look... Esteem wud seem to be a bit outdated..but it wud surely give u pretty good mielege as compared to iKon.. and more over u will find good comforts while driving iKon..
