Successor to the 780G chipset which was around the family of Radeon HD 3200, the 785G intends to get a place in the sun in the PC that will ship with Windows 7 (read our feature on this).

This new set of components now offers an ATI Radeon HD 4200 and supports all the latest AMD processors including the newest Athlon II. He joined the Memory SidePort and supports DDR2 or DDR3 memory. Especially for the multimedia, including playing HD content, it offers a natural output HDMI 1.3, support DirectX 10.1, a management system temperature to optimize the heat release, 8-channel audio and advanced RAID features .

The largest manufacturers of motherboards are expected to propose models equipped with this new set of components like the Gigabyte GA-MA785G-UD3H or with MSI 785G-E65.
