Lead generation the lifeblood of any business

MLM lead generation. We have all been taught the old methods of doing this, contacting friends and family, have them join our business and when that list is exhausted we go after complete strangers we meet in the street.

But what we we really need to be focusing on is the power of the internet and in particular the power of Social Media.Donna Wells of Networkmarketingsolved.com gives some telling statistics on the volume of traffic going to social media sites like Twitter,Facebook and YouTube. You need to be in this arena.

So lets focus on just one social media site, Twitter, and see how we can find people who we could do business with.

Twitter search tools

You want to find the people who are talking about your niche on Twitter,so you can go and start following them and hope they follow you back. This is the way to build an audience,so to move through this process quickly you need great search tools to track down like minded people. Here are some tools to do that:

  1. Twollow.com is great tool for seeking out people in your niche. You pick a keyword that covers your niche and Twollow will follow people who are using that keyword in their tweets.Try and be specific about your niche. If you using a very general word like marketing then you are going to start following alot of people.Twitter monitors how many people you are following each day and if it sees you are growing too rapidly it will stop you adding any more until the number of people following you catches up.
  2. Twellow.com is like the yellow pages of Twitter. This lists by area of interest who is on Twitter. So do a search of your niche and there you will have listed all the people who say have an interest in a home based business. You can see how many followers they have and start following them straight away.
  3. Socialoomph.com is another keyword driven search tool, but also has the added feature of automatically following someone who follows. You can even send out a message to anyone when they start following you rather than use the Twitter default message.
  4. TweetDeck.com displays your Twitter data in a better way than the Twitter front page. You see all your followers messages, your direct messages, and messages where you are mentioned, in three columns. But it is the Tweet Deck Directory that is really useful as it lists areas of interest, say travel blogs, where the webmasters of those blogs have a Twitter account .Again a great way to find people working in your niche.

Twitter Karma

There is another great site Dossy.org which shows all the people following you and whom you are following. You can quickly see who is not following you and bulk delete them if you so wish.

Twitter Search has a feature in it's advanced search function which allows you to find tweets where a question is asked by someone interested in your niche.Given that attraction marketing is about helping other people, this is a great tool for finding newbies who want help.Great for leadership building if you can provide the help they need.

Now I would like to hear from you. What is your favourite Twitter search tool and why?

hey Andrew!

Good post. I've created a twitter account a year ago and quite frankly couldn't follow people since it seems to take a lot of time when doing it manually. For that reason, I left it. Now I think I'm going to try some of these tools.

By the way Andrew are they all free or paid?

Anyway, I'm gonna find out... Once again good post, this is sure going to help me.

stay blessed!

Thanks Richmond. They are all free though like most of these packages Twollow and Social Oomph try and upsell you to the "professional" level which requires payment of a monthly fee.I have been happy with the free versions.
