Even as a child, I've always enjoyed poetry. It is such a great way to express yourself, and your feelings for others.

Here are a few Mothers Day poems I love. Hope you enjoy them too.

MOTHER'S LOVE

Her love is like an island

In life's ocean, vast and wide,

A peaceful, quiet shelter

From the wind, and rain and tide.

'Tis bound on the north by Hope,

By Patience on the west,

By tender Counsel on the south,

And on the east by Rest

Above it like a beacon light

Shine faith, and truth, and prayer;

And through the changing scenes of life,

I find a haven there.

MOTHER

M is for the multitude

Of helpful, serving things

O is for the ode, you know,

Or song that sweetly rings;

T is for the tenderness

That mothers always give,

H is for the happiness and home

In which we live ;

E is for the earnestness

With which we sing her praise,

R is for the richest gifts

We trust will crown her ways!

GOD BLESS YOU

 O Mother dear, I bring you now

The phrase of long ago,

That your sweet lips so softly said

With prayer intent, I know;

How often, dear, in childhood's time

I heard these words so true,-

Throughout my life, like bells they chime,-

God bless you! God bless you!

God bless you! God bless you.

O Mother dear, could you but know

How, truly, day by day,

Your tender love and prayer-filled words

Have helped me on life's way!

This festal hour is set apart

For mothers, earthland through,

I pray from out a greatful heart,

God bless you! God bless you!

God bless you! God bless you.

TWO MOTHERS

 I picked a large bouquet today

To give to my dear Mother,

Then Daddy said in earnest way,

"Come now let's get another,

Because you see, your Grandma dear,

Is my own precious Mother!"

That's what we did; you should have seen

How pleased our mothers were!

I found my Mother and I gave

My flowers right to her,

And Daddy, in the selfsame way,

Gave my Grandma his big bouquet!
