I believe that anyone who is whatever race that the United States is at war with..and if a person is of that religion or race..they should not be allowed to go to war, nor be in the army at that time.
I'm a native and I surely would refuse to go into war against my people no matter if I was born in that country. Blood is strong and I don't see myself going to war and kill another native.
Of course as soon as I saw his name, I thought, terrorisim as everyone has been thinking and when I saw him in his arab clothing well I thought that he being muslim..he may have been sollilicitated to do what he did.
I don't understand that no one didn't contact the FBI when they saw his blog. I received an e-mail stating that this person was going to kill Clinton and his family..I didn't hesitate..I contacted the FBI. Even if it turns out to be a dud..I don't care..but what if that person did attempt to kill Clinton and his family and I did nothing!!! Horrors I would be regretteful all my life for not telling the FBI.
War is horrible! No one should have to go to war and especially go fighting against one's own people. On top of that..the soldiers were harassing him because of 911 and that he was muslim. How can work in the army with that hovering over your head?
Will he ever tell the truth? Is he a recuit for terrorisim? We will never probably know but all indicates that he was troubled.. He probably loved his job and yet troubled of going to Iraq against his people. It is quite a dilema.
But being a physciatrist himself, how come he didn't seek help himself as he would be in a better position to know he had a problem. He was unhappy and mortified by the idea to be deployed to Irak. His blog apparently was already know about what he talked about and saying that maybe the muslims should get up and defend themselves and that some should ties bombs on themselves and to to Times Square..how come the army didn't go into action?
I can imagine the muslim world must be cheering and regarding as a hero. It is disgraceful WAR.
Will it never end? Never it will end as men are greedy and lust after power. We sure need God to come and stop all of this.
Well, what happened is exactly what Jesus said to watch for that showed we would be in the End Times.
I feel sad for the victimes and their family and I feel sad for him too..because he also was in a dilema being muslim and was rethinking his position in the army. Apparently, he was trying to get out of his contract with the army. They would have been better off losing the money they put into him and prevent what happened.
I think that all Muslims should not be allowed to serve in the army, therefore, they would not be in conflict having to fight their own people.
It is a real MESS.

mEEGWETCH..my brother..I wish that the Army would take in consideration what I wrote because it sure must cause inside turmoil. It's unfortuate that he didn't seek help himself but I also can understand that him being a pyschiatriste himself, his ego didn't let him go seek help. It's too bad no one signaled it.
All muslims in the army should be let go as it will be a confilict also not to spy or go against the americans..plus..terroists can brainwash a person because they are muslim, saying that they are betraying their own if they serve in the army against them.. and in a sense they are right.
How can you even work as a secretary for a country that is fighting your people? I would quit my job.
There should be a law and I hope that it will be taken into consideration that when any country is at war with any other country..anyone from that country should not be allowed to serve or work for any army or gouvernment position as it is too tempting to go against the country you are living in who are against yours.
Can you imagine if Canada would be at war..again against the Natives..I surely would be against Canada if they were even if I don't live on a reservation..I probably would go and fight with my brothers and sisters.

I have to take issue with some of what you imply in your hub.
Why do you believe the muslim world would cheer at the deaths of these people? Is that what you think of muslims? Would you assume the same of christians if the shooter was christian? What if the shooter were native? Do you believe the indigenous population would somehow collectively revel in all this tragedy and horror?
You are correct in that this is a mess. It is made messier however by our wholesale exploitation of the prevalent, collective misconceptions we attach to it. Simply because someone yells "Allah u akbar" at the outset of a violent act, does not make that person muslim. It only makes that person the perpetrator of that evil act. As soon as he killed, he ceased being muslim...or even godly...no matter what religion system he subscribed to.
Furthermore, he was an American. He served voluntarily, as was his right as an American. His military service and his faith are not inherently linked. When anyone begins to muddy the line between their personal, spiritual path and their civic responsibility (on causal levels) it opens the door to zealotry and dogmatic assertions if one isn't careful, which have no place in a healthy spiritual life.

Certain groups who identify themselves with Islam (not all muslims) are at war with the U.S. The differentiation must be made because those who kill using Islam to justify such are not muslim. The majority of the muslim world does not support them. This would be the same as likening every christian to christian identity groups (Aryan Nations, The Order, KKK) whose agendas are invariably extremist in nature. Only the extremist islamic elements view the U.S. as the "great, white satan." American muslims might be critical of some U.S. actions and policies (as many of us are), but they, like most muslims do not hate America.
To speak of islam and muslims as though they are a monolith, while implying the terms "muslim" and "terrorist" be used interchangeably is dismissive, simplistic and irresponsible.
Well, you don't know much about what is going on if you think like that. So I will let you think what you want but keep your ears open and you will see that I am right..am not usually wrong. I have been around muslims and not radical ones to know what is going on. I have been threatened many times when I say, that I will never convert to Islam no matter if they took over the world..which is what they want to do and everyone will have to convert..or die.

I agree that it is difficult, or perhaps even impossible, for anyone to fight against people who share the same religion or ethnicity.
I also agree with DeBorrah K. Ogans. There have been far too many mass murders in this country. We do need to humble ourselves, turn from our wicked ways and pray that the land be healed.
Exactly my thought..I always wondered how the army could take in people who they are fighting against. It is unconceivable to fight against your brothers much less your own people. None should be allowed as the blood can become stronger as in his case and he yelled the Jihad battle cry..GOD IS GREAT! So he wasn't sick in his mind..he did on purpose and he had turned away from his american country as he wrote on his blog praising suicide bombers and said that the Muslims should rise and fight.

You presume far too much. I have lived amongst muslims for a considerable portion of my life (a number of them in my own family) and have studied islam alongside christianity. I am very much informed about what happens in the islamic world because I enjoy relationships with many muslims. I have also known a few who were no more than thugs who cloaked themselves in islam in order to somehow lend divinity to ungodly acts they commit. This happens in every religion. I am also very much aware of the geo-political and social conditions which lead to extremism of all kinds, be it religious or secular.
As far as the way I think:
The key is that I do actually think and consider people, be they christian, muslim, jew, hindu, buddhist or athiest from a basic, human perspective. This allows me to defer judgement of entire cross sections of people in spite of atrocities committed by the worst of them.
As far as you being threatened:
Noone can really know why you were threatened by muslims, considering the rather obvious axe you have to grind against them and the evident opinion you embrace that you are never wrong. Is it that perhaps those you met recieved all too well that air of dogmatically religious, self-righteousness you seem to proudly exude?
As far as forced conversion to islam:
It happens that islam is not a prosyletizing faith. It never has been, much like judaism. In the Q'uran it states, "To you your religion, to me mine," and "Let there be no compulsion in religion."
In fact, historically, forced conversion to islam has been a rare occurence outside times of war, which was mainly expansionistic and was done by all religions and political groups.
So, Ms. RedFeather, you need not patronize me. I am well informed and in light of such do not allow myself the luxury of dealing in dogmatic assertions. I try to see each person at their merit, leave the judgements to my creator and despise the sin while praying for the sinner.
I do not presume too much and for sure many are okay but the core of Islam is to convert the whole world to Islam. They are the only ones that are to kill anyone who isn't islamic..as far as they are concerned we are INFIDELS and they kill in the name of their god.
They are constantly in a Jihad religious war and trust me they wouldn't hesitate to kill you if ever that time comes if you don't convert to Islam.
I have studied their book and even some didn't know certain passages when I spoke to them and told them to go and look it up. For sure some other religions also not everyone knows their book as I don't know all of my Bible but before talking on something..am sure am right.
Christians don't go around killing muslims because they are muslims..they do. It isn't spoken often but it does make the news where muslims attack christian churchers and kill nuns, priests and christian people in the name of their god.
I used to work in immigration..trust me I saw alot of
refugees who turned Christian running away for their lives
and even if they were in my country they still were in
danger. Last year a muslim killed his wife here where I
live because he *thought* she was cheating on him. she
wasn't. A woman and her 3 girls were killed by the father
because they were too western..this year. As soon as I
saw it on t.v. and they said arab names..I said it was
a honor killing by muslim and surely by a parent..
I was proven right..a week later it came out..the father
had done this and not only that..the woman in the car
was a woman he married in his country and had married one
here!
No other religion has honor killings or sharia laws. They
tried to install their sharia law in Canada and it was
thrown out of court as it was anti-women.
I'm not against the Muslim people ..am against their honor
killings, their making women slaves and they have to walk
around with Burkas which cause me to shiver when I see
one..a woman in prison under there.
They intentionally go to where is the charter of rights to
use it to their advantage while not caring for the

was raped several times in my life. I have killed no one

no wonder they beat, rape, abuse, hide them under burkas
kill them..and force women into prostitution..which wouldn't
exist is MEN didn't look for it.
Try and go to their country and impose yourself as they do
in ours..you won't live long, especially if you are a
woman. When you go there you have to dress properly or
else get arrested..try wearing shorts or even a t-shirt
if you are a woman. Yet when they come here they try to
impose their religion on us. As the Austrailan Minsister
told them..We didn't force you to come to our country
and we won't take our God down for you. You have a choice
we respect you, you respect us or else you can use the

Trust me if you are a woman and go to Aghanistan you have
to wear a burka and no white socks and don't dare show

I even had one wanting to make me his second wife..I

I worked for one muslim and when 911 happened he was

quit working for him as I got scared of the people that

office would come out right besides me and sit down

In the office we had a sink not far from my desk..instead
of going to the bathroom to wash his feet, he would do
that right in front of me, splash water all over the
place and not clean it up..I sure didn't go clean after

Each race should stay in their country, that way they can

Again, you judge the entire muslim community by the minority who are extremist. You name flaws as though they apply universally to all who identify as muslims. They do not. You speak of honor killings and subjugation of women, which are not condoned in the Q'uran, but are leftovers from many ancient tribal customs and which are considered as absurd and cruel by the majority of muslims. Go back and read the Q'uran a bit more thoroughly.
A 2007 survey showed that only one percent of the estimated 1.5 billiom muslims throughout the world are known to be extremists. As someone who has studied the Q'uran, you should know that forced conversion is not promoted in the Q'uran.
In your study, historical context must be applied as well.
The places where forced conversion has been interpreted from Quranic scripture were in reference to pagans, as it was the paganistic tribes whom sought to exterminate the community Muhammad led. They lived harmoniously with Christians and Jews, did business with them and had treaties with them. The Q'uran mentions fighting pagans specifically, as was the constant state the community lived in at the time.
Over time, hadiths went down interpreting this in order to benefit various arab leaders for political gain. There has been zealotry in islamic societies, but this was mainly due to power struggles and tribal conflicts.
Also, christianity has a long history of forced conversion. You know as well, if not better than I do that it was christian missionaries (with the aid of their indigenous sympathizers) who "civilized" the indigenous populations in North America, Central America, The Caribbean, The South Pacific, Africa and other places by enslaving them and killing off entire cultures.
If one does not judge christianity by those who kill in the name of christianity, one must apply the same standard to islam.
Also, Jihad is not "religious war" or "holy war." It literally translates as "struggle" or "work". The Q'uran only sanctions war against those who wage war against you. Extremists pervert the term as they do most everything else.
You say you are against the core of what islam is. The core of what islam is happens to coincide with what much of christianity and judaism are. The main core differences are really very few.

They do not live harmoniously with the Christians and the Jews and women are less than nothing to them. I've helped alot of muslim women who had been beaten by their husbands. I would never marry a muslim..ever..I stay within my race. I don't believe in ther god that tells them to kill people as was with the Christians in the pass but it was not the real Chrisianity of Jesus but a off-shoot which is still thriving today but not killing people anymore.
We are told not to go to any arab countries, especially the women and I know of some canadian women who have disappeared and never found to this day.

You do not have the market cornered on bearing witness to islamic hate. I have seen it firsthand myslef, in ways and instances that I would not speak about in a public forum either. I have also seen and experienced overwhelming compassion and brotherhood and sisterhood when amongst muslims. It is this variety which fits with a realistic assessment of any major faith.
You have apparently your opinions about islam. I must respect them, though I disagree with how you seem to have come about them, as well as how they absolutely deny and dismiss for any muslim the possibility of individual thought or expression, which I know exists in the muslim community...because I see it everyday.
Every muslim does not hate, just as every christian does not love, because we are all human. Your assertions about islam and muslims as a whole deny any possibility of basic humanity in said community. This is misguided, as it only stems from your personal experiences, which all seem to have been negative. Do your own personal negative experiences negate the abundant experiences of every sort (positive and negative) from other people in all walks and fields of life?

I have never said I hated them..it is you that is continously saying I do. I don't hate anyone and surely there are good people in every race but I do not like having anyone kill in the name of a god and I don't care which god it is.

I was right about him. It has been discovered that his religion came before the country he was born in..America. Red flags were up and no one bothered to check into it. He is being hailed as a hero as I said he would be and am sure it will be discovered he did it in the name of Islam.

Go back and read my comments carefully and you will find that at no point did I accuse you of hating muslims. You and I agree in that neither of us approves of people killing in the name of God or religion. I will say however that George W. Bush sending thousands of combat troops and the varied U.S. war apparatus to fight a war which he said in an official statement that God instructed him to do directly, and Sarah Palin stating for the official record that that same war was "a task that is from God" qualify as at least 2 christians supporting and sanctioning mass killings of people in largely islamic countries in God's name...even if by proxy.
Now, if you say now that all muslims are not like him, but as well make statements like, "They are the only ones that are to kill anyone who isn't islamic," and "..as far as they are concerned we are INFIDELS and they kill in the name of their god," without a qualifier (such as: "many of them", "some of them", "a large percentage of them", etc) you are making a generalization...even if it is unintentional. One can only extrapolate from this kind of commentary, in this context and without a qualifier that you are indeed speaking about all muslims.
By the way, islam is not a race. It is a faith, adhered to by many races in many places. The q'uran actually does not condone discrimination amongst people of God. The q'uran states, "O mankind! we created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. and Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things").
You and I agree on much more than I think you even realize, but I think it is very presumptuous to assume that you are enlightening me or anyone else about the core and true nature of islam when you state only personal opinion and experience. The only thing I become enlightened about in that instance is your opinion, which I find is of value, but does not lend itself to academic consideration.

And yet, as ridiculous as they are, they are the loudest and most disruptive...so they are the ones the media holds up as examples of what islam has to offer. They are basically a self-perpetuating, post-Crusade stereotype run amok.
There are organizations who represent millions of muslims that oppose the perversion of true islam they embrace (by way of extremist rhetoric, brutality and murder) toward political ends.
Again...examine the Q'uran within it's historical context and you will see the guideline by which every muslim should live. Those who do not may identify themselves as muslims, but are not.

Muslims are not all arabs and arabs are not all muslim. There are muslims of all races, from all over the world. I stated such before because you referred to muslims as a race (Quote: "I have enough of the white man down on us without having another RACE coming into my country and imposing their laws and religion on me and my brothers and sisters" & "The army should not take any muslims or any other race when they go against a race").
Nidal Hasan is a murderer and should be tried as one. I think we can all agree with that. To let his example taint the distinguished service of all muslims in U.S. military service is unjust and dismissive. It does not consider the balance that so many muslims have managed to strike in terms of their spiritual lives and military service.
