Apple V Windows PC
I'm interested to know just how many people who use a Windows PC have actually used an Apple Mac as well. Having a Mac at home and using a PC for work, i get the best of both worlds - i wish! Okay, i am a very pro Macintosh user, having used Mac's from the Mac Plus model all the way up to the G5 IMac. I have used numerous PC's at work, but to tell you the truth I couldn't begin to tell you what they were called or what their stat's were.
Operating Systems
Let me start with the operating systems. I am not a computer nerd as such, so please dont be offended if I am slighty off the mark with the latest updates, add-ons etc of each system. Running Vista on my work machine so lets start with it. Is it me or does it just feel "plastic" and it feels like it is all about to crumble around me? I just dont feel safe that its not going to crash at some stage. Does "computer not responding" sound familiar. It drives me crazy. Installing programs on my PC seems to be much the same as my Mac so they are about the same there. My mac system seem to run nicely, Its doesnt crash and to me is the better looking as well. Everything is nicely placed on the dock, it feels stronger and I seem to be able to find things easier.
Your Computer Has a Virus
Well, one of the them does. I still laugh at emails I receive stating that there is a new virus out there waiting to be opened on your PC and attack your hard drive. In all my years working on a Mac, I can honestly say I have never bought virus protection software or had a virus on my Mac. The Mac system just doesnt have to worry about viruses, and believe me, when you have the kids downloading and playing on the computer its nice to know that they are not destroying your machine by installing some nasty virus.. My PC at work, however, runs virus protection, which slows the machine down, is always updating the software, I have to be careful which email message I open....too much like hard work.
Software Battle
Which machine runs the most software? Okay, PC's run more, probably much more than Mac's. The mac will run all your favourite software, Office, Adobe, Explorer, MYOB, Outlook. Is there really much software that doesnt run on both machines these days? However the Mac does fall down in the gaming department. PC's have it all over the Mac's here. But, the kids have their Playstation and Wii for games, so it not a real problem for me.
The Mac
Why buy Apple?
My Mac runs all day every day, No fuss no crashes. Okay it may freeze every now and then, but 99 times out of 100 a restart will fix the problems The new mac's can now run PC system as well, so if you really need a PC, you get the best of both worlds. The looks of the mac will win hands down everytime, just beautiful. In my opinion the Mac is like a trusly old dog, its loyal, works hard and you usually have it for a long time.
Yep I love my mac!!
