Magick Through My Eyes

When you look up the word Magic in any dictionary it will say: Magic is the art of producing a desired effect or result through the use of incantation or various other techniques that presumably assure human control of supernatural agencies or the forces of nature.  Don’t get me wrong, this is a good explanation for magic/magick.  For me personally, magick goes far beyond that explanation.

This is one of my quotes I say often:  “Life is filled with magick, if we allow our eyes to see it.”  In today’s very busy world where everything and everyone is always rushing around, always busy with work, and other obligations, a lot of the magick in the world goes by unnoticed and is not appreciated.

Many years ago when I first went into business for myself, I based my whole concept of the business around the concept that; it is very important to stop, rest, relax and pamper yourself.  Many of the products I designed like bath salts, natural soaps, scented anointing oils and candles were all done with fragrances that encouraged relaxation.  Once you slow down and enter a state of relaxation, you would be surprise how much magick you could see in the world around you.  Nature and Life have given us so many precious gifts. Whether it is smell, touch, feel or seeing, the beauty around us is there to be experienced.

When I was a little girl and lived in Little Italy in Baltimore, Maryland I would sit outside on the marble steps and watch the clouds move.  I remember seeing so many different things it just amazed me.  When we moved out of the city and into more of a country area, it was like moving into a different world for me. Have you ever noticed how much beauty is in the clouds and the night sky?

I have always been able to see energies around trees and flowers.  The natural waters have always felt a live to me.  When you are young and you do not have a full understanding why you see certain things, feel things and sense things that other people do not-often the child is classified as having a good imagination. I suppose I have never lost my imagination even after a half century.  Today I have a full explanation why I see what I do, hear what I do and sense what I do.

When I was in my mid-teens, I sat out to find answers about myself. Once the answers started to formulate in my mind’s eye, I realized I was born the way I am.  Often we are products of our environment (which is true when it involves mundane stuff) but when it comes to spiritual stuff I honestly believe we are born this way.  I was told once by a wise person that we carry a lot of ancient wisdom inside our spirit, and when it is time it will awaken.  I know about a lot of different things, things that I was not taught, so I know for a fact that a lot of my knowledge is from other life times and have laid dominate inside my spirit until it was time to be awakened.  Nothing will ever be able to convince me otherwise.

Taking the time to watch the clouds form into different things is magick.  Watching the hummingbirds feed and explore the area is magick.  Smelling the enchanted scent of a moonflower that only blooms one time, one night is one hundred percent magick.  As you lift a rose to your nose to smell its sweet fragrances and as the velvet texture of its petals brushes against your nose, that is magick.  Have you ever really watched a butterfly?  The way they flutter their wings and the way they flow with the air current?  The velvet texture of their wings that are painted with some of the most beautiful color mixtures I have ever seen, it’s all magick.

I use to do a lot of backpacking and day hiking.  I have sat on top of mountains and looked out as far as the eyes could see and honestly I felt like my breath was being taken away from the beauty, from the quietness and from the stillness.  I sat there in total peace, tranquility and serenity just taking in every second I could of the scene that was in front me.

I can remember day hiking through woods, walking next to a creek with flowing waters.  The sound of the rustling waters, the freshness of the air and the purity of the air being away from car fumes was very intoxicating for me.  Every bit of it was pure magick that nature has given us.

I believe in alternative healing, whether it is Reiki Healing, Healing Touch, Herbal Healing or Hypnosis, I have seen magick happen right in front of my eyes.  I have seen people’s persona switch at a snap of fingers just by being smudge with fairy dust and/or with white sage.

Yes, I do spells; send incarnations, affirmations or prayers.  I often have people contacting me either needing a reading done, candles burnt or I am asked to send affirmations for certain things. But really what are spells?  It is something that you feel very strong about, putting a major amount of focus into it and giving offerings.  You use essential oils, herbs, incense, candles and other tools to symbolically give the affirmation/incarnation more power.  I have never done a spell or anything that was used for harm, although I am not Wiccan, I strongly believe in the Rede:  “And ye harm none, do what thou shall”.

Life is filled with magick, miracles and beauty-all we are ever expected to do is see, hear and believe.

I was having a bad week last week and then nature showed me a little miracle - it was great. But I wont share it here because I am going to write about it. Lovely photos and you have a great perspective on life!

Good reading, enjoyed the videos. My philosophy is not to close my mind to things. I think there is much that many people fail to notice or even be aware of...Our loss. To say something doesn't exist (magic, spirits etc.) is foolish, just because one has not experienced something certainly does mean it doesn't exist or have meaning. I think you're right, people are so busy they haven't spent enough time really examining themselves or what is around them. I think our true life's work is to better understand ourselves and the universe in which we live.

I am not sure that I define magic the same way, but there is surely a lot to see in nature and the world around us, including much that is unexplained.
