Prescott is a city in Yavapai County, Arizona. Prescott is located in Bradshaw Mountains of central Arizona at an altitude of 5400 feet. Prescott, Arizona was Arizona’s first territorial capital and boasts more than 500 buildings on the national registry of historical places.
Prescott amazes you with many Victorian style homes and lures you to own them. Hundreds of years ago, miners used to stay here and drank liquor, as the water was not safe. This popular place is famous by the name of Whiskey Row, where the frontier day celebrations take place.
“Frontier Days” is one of the most celebrated events of Prescott. It gives a chance to the local cowboys and ranchers to bring their ranch bred skills to town for the people to see. Rodeo is unique sport in its own way and is made up of several different events, each with their own rules and rewards. While the lists of events vary in different regions of US, seven events are considered as standard events in most professional rodeo, that are: bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc,tie-down roping, barrel racing, bull riding. Prize money for the winner is made up from the entry fee paid by the cowboys and added money. More than the prize money, the Rodeo Belt Buckle is of more value for the winner and the rodeo world. Prescott holds a lot of other exciting annual events like-Bluegrass festival, Earth Day, Shakespeare Festival.
The Courthouse plaza, known as the,"Jewel of downtown Prescott” is designated now as a Top Ten Public Space by American Planning Association
The Sharlot Hall museum in Prescott is the largest museum in the central territory of Arizona enlightening us on the escapades in human and natural history.
