Many of you are familiar with this name 'Gandhiji' specially all indians ,he is our father of nation. He was the leader who lead us to the independance .Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, also known as 'Bapu' or 'Father of the nation', was born on the 2nd of October in 1869, in Porbunder, Gujrat.
His Life Line
Gandhiji was Born on 2nd of October 1869, Gandhiji completed his education in India after he went to England for higher studies where he was called to the advocate bar in 1891. Gandhiji devoted every moment of his life to the service of mankind, especially the weaker sections of the society. From Cape Town in South africa to Calcutta in India , for well over five decades, Gandhiji launched his epic struggle against the evil forces of apartheid, casteism, communalsim and imperialism. He worked ceaselessly for the upliftment of villages , Harijan welfare, communal harmony and social justice. All his movements were based on non-violence, truth and love. He inspired the entire nation to achieve independence from the British rule . His main weapons are non-violence and non-cooperation through this weapon he won the independence from British rule .

The birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation, is celebrated with reverence all over the country. Mahatma Gandhi was a simple man, with simple tastes and high values. Respecting that, even though Gandhi Jayanti is a national holiday, the festivities are minimal. A prayer meeting is held at Rajghat, Gandhi's samadhi in New Delhi. To mark the respect that Gandhi had for all the religions and communities, representatives from different religions take part in it.
