Now you may be wondering whether it is worth starting a Wordpress blog and how you will make money blogging - well this Hub Page will cover how to set up a money making blog, which means now your blog is set up how to get it working for you so that it makes money!

I have done my best to put them in order of easy of use. So the first is easy to get started with and it gets more challenging as it goes along but nothing too difficult that a little learning in how to do it won't get your started!

The ones you choose to use will depend on the overall purpose of your blog. For example if you are a life coach or speaker you may want to sell your own products or run your own membership site but if you are a mother at home you may want to focus on banner ads or affiliate marketing.

Of course if you are a mother who is a trained life coach and speaker you may want to do them all :-)

I have gone through and added more information for you on different hubs so you will get some brief information and then I will link to another hub that contains much more.

Adsense Ads : Probably the easiest way to get started online is to set up a Google adsense account and add their advertising to your blog. You can use the sidebar of your blog and with premium wordpress themes you can even add adsense after each post.

Be careful with this method because no one wants to read a blog with adverts every where.

It is easy to make money blogging with adsense but it shouldn't be your only way because this method but makes a lot of money (I am assuming you are looking to earn a full time salary from your blog) only if you have a large number of people visiting your blog.

If you are going to host hundreds or thousands of blogs and only use adsense that's one way of increasing the income potential!

There are also different advertising methods and you can get paid when someone takes an action e.g. they fill out a form. This kind of advertising earns you more money.

Banner Ads. You can include little 125 x 125 banner ads on your blog. You can either sell your own space (but will need a lot of visitors for people to buy them) or you can join up as an affiliate marketer and when you do most companies provide a banner ad that you can use on your blog.

The idea is when someone clicks on the banner ads and buys something via your affiliate link you get paid for that.

List Building

This is an important tip for a blogger because we often overlook building a list by collecting names and emails.

Your list is the most important thing you can have, even if your website isn't performing just one email out to a large list and you could sell a product to them instead!

You can build a list by having an optin box on your blog and inviting people to give you their name and email address.

They will only do that if they are going to get something in return so come up with a free 7 day ecourse or a free special report or even a free piece of software that they receive if they sign up.

You want to be doing all you can to continually add names to your subscriber list.

Affiliate marketing is probably the biggest way that many people make money blogging and there are loads of different ways to do it.

In tip 2 I mentioned banner ads and that is using affiliate marketing because you are signed up and promoting something

There are also blog reviews (my next tip)

And many people will write about a particular product and/or service on their blog adding links to the products in relevant places throughout the blog post.

You can of course set up a whole blog dedicated to just one or two products and promote that blog. Once it is making money you then set up another and get that making you money. If you want to you can keep setting them up until they turn a profit and then move on.

There are different ways to have blog post automatically appear on your blog so that you don't have to keep coming back. You may even want to find a years worth of content and just leave them to appear on the blog one day at a time!

Making money blogging using affiliate marketing is huge and shouldn't be ignored.

If there is a product you have used that you think is excellent and that other people will probably find valuable then take a look to see if they have an affiliate program.

if they do then all you need to do is join it and then write a review about the product or service. When you write your review be honest and give the good and bad points of the product.  I always think it is easier to be passionate about a product if you have used it and that will come through in your writing.

If the product is something you can make a video of e.g. a piece of software that you demonstrate how to use - then that will give you even more of an opportunity to earn an affiliate commission.

Write a blog post about how easy the product is to use and demonstrate that in your video. If it is a product that someone really wants you can't help but get sales doing that!

Being paid to write reviews

As a blogger you can join networks that promote being paid to write a review but many bloggers do not like these sites as you may find it difficult to remain unbiased if you are being paid to write something.

This is a great tip because all you have to do is to put together a free ebook and add a clickbank product inside it. By signing up to become an affiliate marketer at clickbank you can add a related product in the front and back and then give it away for free.

You may also want to create one that you use to build your list (tip 3)

You don't even have to write it! Just find 10 articles at an article directory site, email the writer of the article and ask them if you can use them in your free ebook and then put them all together and give that away.

Out of the 10 people you email 7 might say yes, 1 no and the rest don't reply! The great thing is all you need to do then is add an introduction, two products with affiliate links and something at the end of wrap it all up!

Another way to do it is to ask people if you are part of a large social network group. Tell everyone you would like to partner with them to put together an ebook that you will give away.

Of course their website details must be included and a link to their site but at least you don't have to write anything!

It is so easy now to set up a store that you can sell your own products from or you can promote affiliate products.

Yahoo stores are a great example and provide you with an ecommerce store but you do have to pay.

A few free alternatives are:

Cafe press - set your free store up (you can also upgrade when you are making money) and if you have a slogan or design that you love you can add it to mugs, tshirts, and more.

Zazzle - another places just like Cafe Press where you can add graphics to products that you can then promote.

Printfection - Again you get to add graphics but mainly to tshirts and other clothes

Check out all three and see which one suits you better.

If you have a self hosted Wordpress blog you might want to consider a plugin that turns your blog into an ecommerce store. Just search for "ecommerce wordpress plugin" and you will find a few alternatives.

You can run your own membership site (or you can sell access to membership sites as an affiliate - see clickbank for what is available)

When you set up your own membership site you can charge everyone a monthly fee, quarterly or yearly. Maybe you prefer a one time fee where they pay once and that is it.

If you get yourself a great membership script you will be able to offer an affiliate program so if your members like your site they will promote it to their friends. Once they start making money doing that it will really help.

You use your blog to write about what's happening in your membership site and also you will have a banner ad on your membership site to promote it.

Membership sites are really poplar so remember if you don't want to start one think about promoting one or two as an affiliate.  Or if you are a member of a membership site you can use your blog to promote that too.

With information products they don't only have to be ebooks or reports, you can also create audio products, video products or a combination of all three.

Information is still a highly sort after commodity and even if the information is available free on the internet if someone finds something that will give them the answers they want why would they spend another 4 hours searching if for $19 or $29 they can buy your product.

To create an information product you can :

Write/create your own - time consuming but no cost and once it is done you can sell it over and over

Get one created for you - places like elance.com and guru.com are all there to help you find someone who will create a product for you.

Get together with another person and write one together - half the work and also half the profits.

Infopreneuring is big business on the internet. You use your blog to promote your product and also have an image which you use to sell your product.

This is just like giving away free ebooks except now you are giving away free access to a professional or to information.

You run a webinar (video based online training) where people get to watch you do something they want to know. At the end (and all the way through really) you can promote your product or affiliate product you recommend.

You can do the same using teleseminars (on the phone teleconference) where you speak for 20 minutes, invite questions for 10 minutes and then promote a product for 5 minutes

If you don't want to speak then be the host and invite a professional to speak. You will have to allow them to promote something but if you sign up as their affiliate and promote your link it means you both get something out of it.

There are so many different ways you can make money blogging and more ways being found all the time so if you don't have a blog  you might want to think about setting one up!

It helps if you blog about a topic you love because then you never run out of things to say and always remember to do your research to make sure people want to know about what you are promoting if your aim is to make money.
