Interesting heading right? Make Money Posting Links on Google!

I have seen it around the net a bit and I think it's a pretty misleading statement. Let me break this topic down for you so you can decide for yourself.

How do people make money from google?

1) AdWords - AdWords is Google's advertising platform. People use it to advertise their products and services. If you have something to sell you can use AdWords to buy traffic from Google and use it to sell your product. Google traffic is great because it is highly targeted. You know what people are looking for because what they have typed into the search box, and you can target only relevant searches. AdWords is a massive industry, Google uses it to make millions.

2) AdSense - AdSense is the other side of Google online advertising, anyone who wants to make money from their website content can use AdSense to place ads on their site. You don't have to deal directly with any advertisers. You just place some code that they give you, where you want your ads to be positioned. When people click on your ads you make money.

So lets look back at this headline which I have used.

"Make Money Posting Links on Google"

On one hand it suggests I could make money posting links on Google's search results. Well yes I could do this if I signed up to AdWords...but I would need something to sell or some offer to push. People do make money this way. But for someone starting out I wouldn't go there. AdWords is buying traffic based on keywords. If you don't know what keywords to target, or what offers to push you can lose money...a lot of it, and fast. AdWords in not for beginners.

On the other hand it could suggest that I could make money posting Google links on my sites. This sounds like a good idea. People make money from AdSense every day and you can too.

It's not as easy as it sounds!

AdSense isn't as easy as just adding a few ads to your pages and waiting for the money to come in. To make Money from AdSense you really need to get traffic from Google itself, Google traffic converts best. To do this you need to learn about SEO.
