Now it's easier than other to make money with your camera. There is a huge demand for stock photos. You can make a considerable amount of money with a digital camera. Stock photos are images that you take and then upload the image to a website and sell it over and over again, each time being paid for that same photo.

People who buy stock photos are magazine publishers, web designers, and advertisers that may use the photo for different reasons.



Getting Started Selling Photos

What you need is a camera and the ability to take quality photos. You can take images of anything that you like and be able to upload and sell it. This can be of any item, or object that you think people will be interested in. If you take photos of photos you will need to download and have them fill out a model release, which most people will do. This will give you the rights to their likeness.

You will want to make the photo high DPI and you may even want to use a photo enhancing software such as Adobe PhotoShop to make some minor adjustments to the photos to make it marketable. This will get easier to do each time that use the program. You don't have to use Adobe PhotoShop to make the adjustment, there are also other programs out there that you can use.

Once you find the photos that you will want to upload you will then want to look for stock photo sites that will take your work on consignment and then upload them getting paid for each one that someone downloads. You can sometimes upload the same image to several different sites.

Here you can make from 50 cents to up $60 per download. They accept many differernt formats, and you can get paid for balances as low as $30 if you get the balance placed in PayPal. They will give you ideals of what they are looking for and give you great tips. They also have a "photos we Need" section to help you decide what to take photos on.

ShutterStock Photos


You can get paid .25 cents per download. They will also take stock footage. You can upload movie films like YouTube and get paid for downloads there. For these you can get $10-$50 a clip. As you can see there are many different options that you can choose from to earn money with this site.


You will get paid after you reach $75 in payout via PayPal. That is only after 300 downloads. Once you reach $500 in earnings you will get paid .33 cents download and increases as you earn money.
