Make Money by Selling Nothing and Giving People Things for Nothing!

The title of this hub article is certainly a grabber, isn't it?

You may notice from my Hubpages username, as well as my articles (see my other articles), that I am an avid enthusiastic of the make-money-online world, and specifically of Adsense.

Now Adsense is a good gig. You can make a lot of money with Adsense. But the truth is that, unless you already have a strong website and a lot of traffic, then it takes a lot of work and time to build a sound Adsense business.

I am not saying that it can't be done. In fact, I recommend working on an Adsense business exactly because you will learn so much about Internet marketing, and indeed marketing in general, that will be invaluable to you in all sorts of other domains. I do not regret for a minute launching of down the "How to make money with Adsense" road.

But making money only with Adsense is a medium- to long-term solution to money problems.

It involves a combination of skills and time/money. And if you don't have the skills, then it involves the time to learn those skills. The skills are not necessarily extremely difficult, but you still have to learn them if you don't have them in your possession already.

A short-term solution to making money online, then, may not be findable in Adsense, UNLESS you already have a website with some good traffic. Even then, a lot depends on a number of other factors, such as what keywords your site focuses on (as Adsense pays out a wide variety of figures for various keywords), and what your monetary targets are.

On this last point, it is worth sitting down and considering this. For example, let's say that you earn $30 000 a year doing an offline job, but would like to boost your income up to, say $45 000 a year. This means you would need an extra $15 000 a year, which the sake of simplicity we will call $1 200 a month, or $300 a week ($300 a week times 52 weeks is around $15 000 in any case).

Now $300 a week divided by 7 days is between $40 and $50 a day. If you have any experience with Adsense, then you know that at times 40 to 50 cents a day can seem like a good takings! So here we are talking about an increase of a hundred times.

Can this be done? To my mind there are only two ways to accomplish this: either dramatically increase your traffic, or find the keywords that pay the highest.

Of course an alternative method is NOT TO FOCUS EXCLUSIVELY ON ADSENSE.

The main feature of Adsense is that you MUST have a website to use it.

Adsense simply does not permit you to put ads up anywhere except on a website.

In a funny way, curiously this limits you on the Internet, however. What if I were to tell you were that you could make money

(a) without selling anything and

(b) by giving something away to people, something that they really want.
