Halloween pictures don't have to be boring -- just learn how to compose your shot

Picking the right subject is a definite challenge when it comes to taking Halloween pictures. There is so much you want to focus on that you might become tempted to try and grab everything in one shot. Unfortunately, what you end up with is a boring shot where nothing looks as good as you remember it.

Everything is Interesting

Halloween is an exciting time, and everything can be so tempting. You try to capture the mood, excitement, decorations, and children all at once. Someone is moving here, and another person is moving there and you want to get it all!

Take a Step Back

When you try to capture everything in one shot you'll end up with shot that is too wide. There won't be anything of interest in it at all! Having too many subjects leads to an image where you don't have any subject to speak of. There should always be a "star" in your image.

If you do take these shots that are too wide your eye won't have anywhere to focus. It's a case of sensory overload and the shot won't be how you remembered it or what you wanted. You might have thought trying to get everything in was a great idea at the time, but more often than not the results of such a wide and unfocused shot will be disappointing.

You Need a Star!

It's important for you to have a main subject to focus on whenever you're taking Halloween pictures. Focus on that one subject, and your photo will be more interesting as a result. For instance, if you have two children you may want to focus on getting a great picture of each of them, rather than a great picture of both of them.

It will make a world of difference and add a lot of interest to your photographs when you learn how to choose your subject and focus on it. For example, if you are trying to capture your child in the middle of all of his candy, focus on the child and the magic of the candy will come through as well. If you tried to focus on both of them the picture wouldn't be as interesting.

It can be hard to understand how to choose your star subject, and how to make that interest come through in the photograph. That's why it's best to have expert Halloween photography advice to help guide you through.

Halloween pictures are a lot of fun, but only if they are focused on a subject. The rest of the photograph and the background will come through much better as a result.

It's important to choose a great subject for your Halloween pictures. Too many people fall into the habit of trying to focus on too many things in one photo. Check out HalloweenPhotographySecrets.com for more tips from professional photographers on how to get amazing Halloween pictures this year.
